The only thing current allied races have is mostly worse racials and some new looks. Oh and you can’t create as many classes.

I generally noticed that this version of the pyramid is overall less golden, or rather less vibrant. Just compare the gold color.
Though it's largely unfinished, you can notice the giant black texture at the bottom of the throne pic, or the "exploded" wall, etc.

They did, though the door is just stuck to a wall, there isn't a secret hallway behind it.
My guess is that it's not supposed to be a future mysterious thing.. it's just that it looked dumb for the carpet to go into a wall, so they put a door on it, to give the illusion it continues to the lower levels.

Only thing really binding mages to cloth in particular is classic DND stuff and mechanics

and I always had been given the assumption that plate makes it harder to keep stamina up to keep casting out spells and that it'll be easier and less strain on the body to be in a robe.
Where as for Kael'thas, he's been in his stuff for hundreds of years.
Oh there's no real D&D mechanics that block that stuff either Port
