I think Silverpine Forest assaults were more because the Forsaken tore away their homeland (i.e. the Horde assaulted them) than a personal hatred.

And yes sylvanas has always been his prey since Liam and Gilneas, Akr. He even notes it and is highly aggressice against her specifically.
Also Broken Shore wasnt the horde entirely, but it doesnt change that they left the flank open. Horde didnt kill varian, but they didnt help save him either. Which is also om the alliances fault but we are just speaking of Genns viewpoint here.

Silverpine Forest wasn't specifically Genn, but was the citizens of Gilneas as an extension from the Gilneas invasion. It was their rebuttal to the Forsaken's invading forces and attempt to free Gilneas. You can place all of that onto Crowley, not Genn.
