It’s honestly a bit up in the air on what happens with burning and siege. The intention of teldrassil was not to burn the tree, that’s mostly clear, again assuming that we take everything at face value for the sake of discussion. The siege seems to be more a retaliation, and I wonder if Anduin was forced into it by what he believes happens at teldrassil, I don’t know. I hope the cutscenes clarify some of this. To be honest, most of BfA seems to rely on older hatred and uses the new ones as an excuse, so when you think of their reasonings, look at rexxar, and extrapolate
