The titans know how dangerous they are, so they had to be desperate to try anything with Old god blood and flesh. Which makes sense in finding a way to remove the old gods permenately and safely. It'd also put up as a good reasona s to why no other titan facility tried this

My theory is this: The deathknights are, and always will be, bound to the Helm of Damnation. As long as the Lich King exists, the deathknights will be bound to his will.

Now you might ask: "Well why did Sylvanas and the Forsaken free themselves? Why did the Val'kyr?"

Well I might be able to explain that.

#

For Sylvanas and the Forsaken, they weren't risen by the Lich King, they were risen by Arthas. Before he could ascend to the Throne. As for the Val'kyr, Arthas either created them or had bound them to his will. Which means not resurrecting them and tying them to the helm.

For us third generation deathknights, we are risen directly by Arthas. Bound directly to his helm.
