You would do WQs and then M+. In 7.2 they increased the ilvl of WQ gear and added the Broken Shore with bosses and Nethershards allowed you to buy gear as well. Overall M+ has remained the main way to farm gear along with raids.

In prepatch we have the second part of Silithus which has us cleanse the sword and help the wound begin to heal. This event is most likely what makes our artifacts inert and 'deactivate'
as the prepatch comes with all the game changes BFA brings
such as the stat squish, the class changes, etc.

I've seen the circumstances in which the artifacts lose their power and stuff, and Ive seen the grayed out screens, but how does that affect the weapons? do they just turn into regular weapons? like they are still usable until we get better ones?

how does this affect pre-BFA content? Like someone leveling 100-110, powering up the artifact weapon is a large part of the game play in those levels. Will players leveling through that content still be leveling up the artifact weapon, or will they be adding in weapons to Legion content to replace leveling up the artefact?

Blasted Lands isn't gone for those under level 90, it's onl yinvaded by the iron horde when you've hit 90.
Theramore is built until you do the Theramore scenario then it'll be bombed to all heck

Well now it won't change until 110 as the Silithus change, like the argus change, was put in for all 110s after time had passed.

so I did some investigating in Undercity post Battle for Lorderon
(This was done on alliance charcter though I doubt it will matter)
Everything in the upper level is blighted. However if you manage to make it back to the elevators, the lower ground outside them is safe. You can't fly over the blight as mounting as been disabled inside
There are invisable walls blocking the elevators, they are however still running.
I tried various things and was eventually able to get past the wall with my void elf's spacial rift
Undercity is untouched but there are no NPCs
That said I wasn't able to get far, once I got into the main room I was auto teleported to Zidormi
