@meager warren I haven't followed the conversation, but the dark irons we recruit come from Shadowforge. As for why the Alliance goes to Kul Tiras, it's to re-ally with them and get their navy. Anduin sends Jaina to sway them but when she gets there she's tossed in prison. And all 3 regions of KT have their own issues (Drust/witches, sea priests, Ashvane). So you help them and reunite the Houses.

Vris I think you're lacking information. It's not the "same player model treatment", there is much more than that.
- They were added to the CharacterRaces file. It's true, that file does not contain only playable races, but other stuff like vrykul and tuskarr too. Still something, but a little something, yes.
- The vulpera are getting a ton of model development for a race that, as far as we know, shows up in a significant way in only one zone. In comparison the Sethrak who are much more prominent and important barely get any customization and are purely NPC models. Meanwhile the Vulpera are getting so much customization options it's unreal. And in addition their models were recently updated entirely, female got a whole different faces, they got new tails, faces were rigged for animations, they received underwear (which is something that is in general unique to playable races), and their texture sheet is ordered like that of a playable race.
- Vulpera also have player data inside the CharacterRaces file, not NPC data (like tuskarr or naga), but like that of the Allied Races, and which flags them as a Horde race.
It's still not a confirmation but there's quite a base for speculations, one cannot deny that.
