Due to feedback, they're devising a new system for transmog running in BfA!
Once these updates are implemented, entering a dungeon or raid that is trivial for you (i.e.: your character is 10 or more levels higher than the dungeon or raid’s intended level) will activate a “legacy loot mode.” That loot mode will work like this:
-For raids with a flexible raid size (such as Raid Finder), this will act as though there were 20 players in the raid.
-All items on the loot table will have a chance to drop, not just the ones that are designated for your spec.
-If you have multiple players in the group, the loot will be split among those players, but be tradeable. For example, if you’re clearing with one other player and kill a boss that should drop 4 items, you’ll each be able to pick up two items and trade them between each other if you like.```

I think it wont. They've never reduced the sell price and have instead opted for reducing the boss gold, which has been more than effective in severely hampering gold production. An example is Cataclysm raids pre-Legion gave 10-12k gold depending on drops and now they're cut by half with only yeilding 5-6k. (This is for all the cata raids and not any individual one).

I'd say get some engineering goggles rather than the eye-patch one. or some glasses from engineering. I'm assuming that's a paladin so maybe get a blacksmithing hammer like the WoD crafted hammer when going tank spec and then find a nice mace for ret/holy?

Yeah, I just favored the single "goggle" rather than the actual Engineering ones, for precise inspection/work, without needing to pull the goggles off. And honestly, not THAT much of a fan for the engineering goggles too, so that might influence my choice too.

I think I read at some point that in order to implement armour dyeing in WoW, they would have to add coding to all the textures that currently exist in-game.

Even if there's only a single dye channel per item, that's still a shitload of work.
It might be slightly less work if they gave us an option of palette shifts for an item. Like if you compare items from a given expac, you can tell that a lot of them are just recoloured versions of the same basic model
But they tend to want specific colour codes linked to ONLY the PvP versions of stuff, or ONLY the heroic/mythic versions of sets, etc.

On one hand, I would love higher-res textures of all the vanilla and BC stuff. On the other hand, I worry that they'd "improve" them in other ways.
Part of the reason I like the older item models is because they're just so much more colourful. Wrath and Cataclysm were definitely the first step down the path of "let's make everything 1400 shades of brown and gray"
I know they updated the Tier 2 helmet textures in Wrath when they updated Onyxia. That was fine. They just made the textures higher-resolution.
Again, I don't know how hard it would be to do that for everything, but definitely time-consuming as hell.
And as long as resolution is all they did and didn't tweak the colour balance.

@onyx mural have you checked out bellular's video (on yt) on npc models in bfa compared to vanilla? It's specifically for npcs but he mentions that the vanilla stuff tended to be more saturated because of how crappy the monitors were back then, but they've started to shift to less saturated colors because color definition is so much better now. Probably a similar with gear models that you're noticing

Another question. If you complete a quest for one armor type, do your alts get the other respective rewards unlocked? E.g. on my priest I do a quest I have never done before on any character. The quest rewards a cloth robe and plate boots. The cloth dress gets added in my priest's inventory and unlocked in the wardrobe. But does my warrior now also have those plate boots unlocked yes or no?

But I know for a fact it works in SOME way, I tested. You can do a quest that rewards a gun. Do it on a rogue and you don't get a reward at all but your hunter now magically has the gun unlocked

Either these quests just won't share the other armortype's appearances despite completing the quest, or there's some bug. Uhh... try looking through WoD/Iron Horde themed mounts, and though a bit unsure whether it's within your liking then Frostwyrm mounts from the WotLK era could work for flying mount. But then there's the whole deal of riding a bag of flying reanimated bones.

@nocturne junco So in Pandaria, I think, there was this zone of PvP type goodness on the south part of the continent, near some shore. I know Alliance side if you ground out the quests eventually you got a updated model of the griffon mount. The Horde equivalent is.... wait for me to find the link....
I think this is pretty ferocious, unless you want to spend Actual Money for the two headed iron horde mount thing.
There is also an "armored" version of the same mount, for potentially more badassery.

So I've been using that one Heros of the storm promo mount on my demon hunter because I'm all about the fire. Her whole mog is Firey. And now I'm farming for the solar spire hawk 16 times a week(still no drop) any Firey flying mounts that aren't super time consuming to get? (Saw that mount question and remembered I have a mount question lol
