I think BGs have a chance of giving a box yes. I don't recall how else they work. Generally a win box is greater loot chance or something.

In seriousness: a lot of the vanilla style "shirts" (see: vests) work well layered over normal shirts
So you can make yourself look more tinkerer-ish in that sense. Above is me being silly on my DH because I lack mogs for leather users but definitely try layering stuff

I tried it with the belt that matches the rings on the neck and while it worked it looked quite heavy all over; I think with all that is going on on the shoulder line it benefits from not having a huge belt
