its certainly not as story heavy as FFXIV or WoW, but since the remaster there actually is a story with lots of cutscenes and voice acting

#

and they got rid of a lot of the story being locked behind grinding and killing 200 enemies

right now its free, so there is no harm in trying it

but as someone who got it on launch, revisted it in 2018 and just restarted now, its definitely MUCH better than it ever has been

and i personally still find the depth of the game systems to be the main source of interest and engagement
