The "easy" (but time consuming) to get mount thgat has special place in my heart is winterspring frostsaber. You also get a pet to go with it.
It was in game since vanilla, but was practically impossible to get for non night elves (you had to have darnassin rep at exalted before you could learn to ride cat mounts, and the only way to do it was via growing and turning in TONS of morrowgrain (poison used to taint tedrassil)
Then in order to actually get the mount you had to farm differnt rep to exalted, that could only be farmed via repeatable quest rewarding 50 rep . You had to do this quest 840 times. To get to exalted
Quest involved killing 12 furbogs (6 ursas, 6 shamans) then riding back a dcent distance to turn in, picking up same quest again, riding back, rinse repeat.
Nowadays you can do this via 20 dailies so it takes exacly 20 days to do.
The mount is amasing though, so clean no armour no frills just beautiful

For the LN, the craft is not expensible in itself, people are just lazy and tailors take advantage of that. (Don't blame them, I did it too)
The pattern is a common loot of Vanilla lvl from some dwarves near Stormwind, components are common too. (You need to do maybe two low-lvl BR to get the silks? It's super easy, really)

Because you can say any of the rare drop mounts are "hard" because it can take literal years before rngjesus smiles upon you
But at the same time I do not think it is actually "hard" to sit for 15 mins in kun lai once a week (per character)
I would agree for pvp folks seasonal glad mounts (top 0.5 % I think?) are probably "hardest"

A bunch of state-wide legislation will probably muck things up. It probably won't have any sort of permanent effect, but it might buy some time until 2018, 2020, 2022, or 2024.

There's probably going to be lawsuits into various aspects of this whole process. Aside from apparently subverting the will of the people, investigating possible corruption and generally preventing the ISPs from trying to do what people are afraid they will do (which has precedence, by the way, because throttling began to happen prior to the 2015 Title II reclassification, because of how mobile internet is treated at the moment, and also because of actions of ISPs in countries without net neutrality like Portugal) is pretty likely to happen.
Basically, nice as it is to try to fight this off, I have my doubts that a bunch of comments to the FCC in their current state will do much (I still submitted one). Instead, I think what comes after might have an effect.

where EA goes wrong is in the how monetization-wise. Then again, since fanbases can and are willing to defend virtually any practice, there's some leeway to toe the line of what is considered "acceptable."

honestly I feel like a lot of game budget these days probably goes into marketing. hellblade's launch price was $30 and they were smart with their marketing for it.
