I agree. This could probably be applied in a broader sense relating to how important teaching research techniques are. For me, this was mostly a middle and high school thing. Apparently, such techniques are not universally taught and much like certain other types of literacy, universal research and citation literacy is woefully poor.

indeed @ashen parrot although wowhead is great, and can indeed help new players, we all assume a certain low level knowledge of the game before using it
a new guildie asked me some advice about end game, on their first character, I told them to play teh game first and ask when they got there naturally

the game teaches everyone to the same level, using wowhead is more like expert level for teh game, if that makes sense
cos frankly, anyone that doesn't get the basics after just playing the game, really isn't gonna get much help fromanything on wowhead or any other site, cos it won't make any sense

I play multiple toons, multiple classes and both factions. I'm not good at raids but feel more confident doing dungeons now and my friends talk me into mythic lol. I level all kinds of ways and especially through pet battling 😀
