I think it kind of depends. I usually give an answer to something, then say at the end something like "wowhead has this information if you read the comments on this thing" or something. Other times it's simply more useful for information that would be hard to word a question for. Earlier somebody had deleted their Lee reddit thread description because it had misleading info. It was on the topic of dungeons in PTR, in that the iLvl is scaled down for testing. They thought this would be a feature next patch as opposed to a feature exclusive to PTR for testing. But it would be impossible to Google "feature of PTR with dungeon testing" and find reliable results.

Look no further than places like Quora for examples of this, since questions might have clear-cut answers, but interpretations vary wildly and thus responses might too. This largely applies to open-ended questions.

Google needs answers on these forums to actually populate the search. Answering a question properly increases the chance the correct answer shows on a search.

It can be considered impolite and condescending to (solely) answer with something like "Google it." It also very frequently can be considered destructive criticism because by itself, it's hardly a substantial answer or a decent explanation as to why the person should go do that.

I just discovered something with my speakers.
I've been using some like crappy $10-15 speakers for awhile, and I just realised why they're so bad on top of it all
So, like most speakers, they plug in from jack -> right speaker -> left speaker, etc.
Well for whatever reason, because of this, somebody designed it in a way that the left and right speaker would be a series circuit instead of parallel.....
when I have my sound low, it only plays sound from the right speaker.
