I like the idea, but the problem would be that the building would be 'too open', so, not a good place for storage (too exposed to elements)
What some players on YouTube, e.g. Pampa, have done is leave certain buildings only partially built. Like the foundation, posts and roof to create an open air shelter looking building.
Would you want the Town Center to have any function or simply be a decorative item?

Of course when I hear Town Center there are many RTS games that I think of like the original Warcraft and Age of Empires where it’s the first building you plunk down. My first thought for function was radius of all other building, but that wouldn’t work in this game. If a radius for your village was going to be implemented it would probably be around your house. The next thing g. To come to mind was a pre-req to unlock g other buildings gs, which is also common in those other games. In the case of MD it would probably best be implemented as a boost to happiness.
Tbh I'd say something like a mayor's house would be a better option for a town center.
Like a house where the player and his or her family resides.

I think it's more for the reason that we should be getting this building as close to the center of the village as possible to cover everything with the remote storage. But when it's centered it makes the vibe odd. Also how do they leave the roof off. If not fully built or upgraded the remote part doesn't seem to work

Honestly I'd suggest that instead of latching the remote storage access to the storage building it be connected to all settlement, expanding it's reach as the settlement expands outwards.
Basically the remote storage would then be connected to the entire village instead of a single building.
Tho that's probably better off as a completely seperate suggestion.
