If I use the customise option on my chest and use iron/planks or copper to make a heavy or reinforced chest, it should increase the weight amount it can hold too

Thanks.. that was my question too.. the chest is the exact same size no matter the option so why should it contains more.

I'd say 'because it's not big enough as is' ^^

tbh I find it too small and have to stock several of my 'precious items' (I have a manureload of Coverlets) in other, outside chests

Display your things as decoration and they won't take up space in the chest.
