Firstly, in the Middle Ages the temperatures were slightly cooler than those in the game. Now, on game we have modern temperatures. Secondly, the plot is in a mountain valley, so this also suggests that the climate should be a bit more harsh. And thirdly, after developing the "invulnerable" trait, the temperature has a marginal effect on the hero. The rest is sooo good job.

Um as far as I was aware it was the exact opposite, Google the Medieval Warm Period (800-1400 AD) , temperatures were as warm as now or warmer
