I think it would be cool if you could build a fairly large structure where the settlers/ citizens could live together. 6 or 10 maybe. I think this would make recruitment easier if there was group housing where you could temporarily have people live. also for the building it could have a lower happiness (30-40%) bc its cramped as well as no relationships or families could form there. making it something you wouldn't want for long. reason this would be nice is bc there have been many times where ill build one or two houses and go out looking for some settlers and ill find 3 female or males that I would like and then I have to scramble to build houses. witch might just be a me issue but i also feel like a shelter would fit with the "fantasy" of medieval dynasty/ the world building. The structure could be the size of the tavern and have 2 levels 1st would be thatch and sticks 2nd planks for the roof and walls the tier 2 ones. I think it would be cool. and also it could fit between the simple small house and the simple house in the progression so it would be unlocked early. idk what do y'all think?

alternative suggestion, give the tavern a couple of 'guest' rooms for temp lodging, from where settlers can move on to houses with empty slots/compatible people

Love the idea! ooo also when the kings quest person or the jeweler and such come by they could use those rooms as well instead of just sitting outside.

I think the original idea is better, since taverns were more so a meeting space than a place for lodging. It was far more common for people in medieval times to stay with friends/relatives/ or even strangers in their houses, outbuildings or barns
