#Hello. I am using eleven labs v3 but the voice is not being consistent when I generation in batches

Short answer: Eleven v3 is intentionally more expressive and therefore less consistent than earlier models. You can reduce variance, but you can’t fully “lock” v3 to sound identical across batches. For strict consistency, use Multilingual v2 or Turbo/Flash instead.
What you can do now
- Switch models when you need consistency: Multilingual v2 (most stable for long‑form) or Turbo/Flash for interactive use. (elevenlabs.io)
- Tighten v3’s behavior with Stability: set the stability mode toward Robust (highest stability; most similar to v2). Expect reduced responsiveness to tags at this setting. (elevenlabs.io)
- Use deterministic sampling hints: pass seed (integer) in Create speech; repeated requests with the same seed and parameters should return the same result, though determinism isn’t guaranteed. (elevenlabs.io)
- Preserve continuity across batched chunks: when splitting text, send previous_request_ids/next_request_ids (or previous_text/next_text) so v3 maintains flow and timbre between segments. (elevenlabs.io)
- Keep prompts and tags consistent: v3 is nondeterministic and highly sensitive to punctuation, capitalization, and audio tags; keep these uniform across batches. (elevenlabs.io)
- Voice choice matters with v3: PVCs aren’t yet fully optimized for v3; if you’re on v3 and consistency is important, prefer an Instant Voice Clone or a designed voice that’s neutral and steady. (elevenlabs.io)
Why this happens
- Eleven v3 trades stability for expressiveness by design; Eleven recommends v2/v2.5 Turbo or Flash for use cases where predictable, repeatable delivery is critical. (help.elevenlabs.io)
If you share an example request (model_id, voice_id, voice_settings, seed, and any previous/next IDs), I can suggest exact parameter values to minimize drift.
