#if i exceed my quota plan and i need more credits, what should i do?

Short answer:
- If you’re on Creator, Pro, Scale, or Business: turn on Usage Based Billing to keep generating after you hit your monthly quota. Go to Subscription > Manage Subscription, enable “Usage based billing,” and set your max overage threshold. You’ll be billed per 1,000 credits at your plan’s rate and either at cycle end or immediately once the outstanding balance crosses the plan-specific threshold. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- If you’re on Free or Starter: you can’t use Usage Based Billing. Upgrade to a higher plan to get more credits now, or wait for your next billing-cycle reset. (help.elevenlabs.io)
Key details:
- Overage prices per 1,000 credits: Creator $0.30, Pro $0.24, Scale $0.18, Business $0.12. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- Overage charges post immediately once usage-based balance exceeds: Creator $44, Pro $198, Scale $660, Business $660; otherwise billed at the end of the cycle. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- Upgrading mid-cycle gives you the new plan immediately; remaining unused credits are added and your billing cycle resets. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- App Store/Google Play subscriptions cannot enable Usage Based Billing. To use it, switch to a website (Stripe) subscription after your app-store plan expires. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- There’s also a per-request usage cap equal to 2× your plan’s monthly quota; split very large jobs if you hit it. (help.elevenlabs.io)
If you need help choosing the best option, tell me your current plan (and whether you subscribed on web or mobile).

If you exceed your monthly credits:
- Creator/Pro/Scale/Business: Enable usage based billing to automatically keep generating after you hit your quota. Steps: Subscription page → Manage Subscription → toggle “Enable usage based billing” and set a max threshold. Pricing per extra 1,000 credits: Creator $0.30, Pro $0.24, Scale $0.18, Business $0.12. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- Free or Starter: Usage based billing isn’t available. Either wait for your next billing cycle to renew credits or upgrade to a higher plan. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- Subscribed via the iOS/Android app? You can’t enable usage based billing on mobile subscriptions; switch to a website (Stripe) subscription to use it. (help.elevenlabs.io)
Notes
- If your API returns quota_exceeded, enable usage based billing (Creator+), upgrade, or wait for renewal. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- You can change the usage based billing threshold anytime from the same Subscription page. (help.elevenlabs.io)

What if I cancel mid month the scale plan and then I pay for it again to top up the credits again? For business which aren’t scaled at the “business plan” level?
