#Why did you remove Liam's regular voice?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Short answer: We didn’t remove “Liam.” ElevenLabs refreshed the Default voice lineup and deprecated some older “Legacy” defaults that no longer met our quality bar. Those legacy voices are hidden by default, auto‑routed to similar replacements, and scheduled for removal on February 28, 2026. Liam is listed as a replacement Default voice (e.g., Patrick → Liam), not a removed one. (help.elevenlabs.io)
If you were seeing a “regular” vs “turbo” label, that’s model selection rather than a separate Liam voice. Default voices are trained across our Flash v2/v2.5, Turbo v2/v2.5 and Multilingual v2 models; the voice stays the same while the model changes latency/quality. (help.elevenlabs.io)
How to proceed:
- If you previously used a legacy voice and don’t see it, enable “Show legacy voices” under Voices > Default Voices or check Recently Used. Until Feb 28, 2026, prior users can still access legacy voices. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- API calls to legacy voice IDs will automatically route to the new replacement voice; audio may sound slightly different. (help.elevenlabs.io)
If you meant a different “Liam” from the community Voice Library, note that library voices can be withdrawn by their owners (with or without a notice period), which would also make them disappear from your list. (help.elevenlabs.io)
