Hey thats a restriction of our telephony network. Usually the PSTN are in narrowband 8khz. Super low quality. We switched to telnyx as it support g.722 24khz in germany for 80% of the calls that are routed directly via the carrier to telnyx and not via a pstn transmission. Now most calls have high quality both ways.

Other things you can try:

Assess Call Quality Metrics: Log into your Twilio Console and navigate to Voice Insights for the affected calls. Check for jitter (aim for under 30ms), packet loss (target 0%), and MOS scores (above 3.5 is ideal). If metrics flag network problems, test from a different device or location to confirm. Your Ireland routing might amplify latency if there's an edge mismatch with our data centers.

Verify and Align Integration Settings: In our Agents dashboard, double-check your Twilio credentials (Account SID and Auth Token). For TwiML setups, explicitly set the media stream to μ-law 8kHz encoding via the verb parameters.

Monitor Logs for Patterns: Enable detailed logging in both Twilio and your agent via post-call webhooks. Look for internal errors like "1011" codes, which have cropped up in similar setups. If you spot recurring ones, share the conversation IDs here for deeper analysis.
