Short answer: he doesn’t need to travel. For Professional Voice Cloning (PVC), only the voice owner can verify, and they can do it remotely on their own device. You cannot create a PVC of someone else’s voice—even with their consent—on your account. The owner must create and verify the clone in their own account, then share it with you. (help.elevenlabs.io)
How your friend can do this remotely
- Create a PVC in their own ElevenLabs account, upload sufficient training audio (minimum ~30 minutes recommended; 2–3 hours for best results), then complete the “Verify your voice” step. Verification requires reading a prompted text (CAPTCHA) out loud and submitting that recording; if it fails they can retry after 24 hours or contact support. This can be done entirely from their location. (elevenlabs.io)
- After fine‑tuning completes, they can privately share the PVC with you by whitelisting your account via a sharing link. Only verified Professional Voice Clones can be shared; Instant Voice Clones and Voice Design voices cannot. (help.elevenlabs.io)
Key policies to be aware of
- PVC must be of your own voice; cloning someone else’s voice—even with consent—is not allowed. Instead, the owner creates and verifies their PVC and shares access with you. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- By default, no one else has access to a voice unless the owner explicitly shares it (e.g., via whitelist/link). (help.elevenlabs.io)
If you need, I can outline the exact clicks/API calls your friend would use for verification and sharing. (elevenlabs.io)

This is nonsens, what point is then have more PVC than 1, wtf ?
I get the frustration. Here’s the official picture:
- Professional Voice Clones (PVCs) can only be of your own voice. Even with consent, you can’t create a PVC of someone else’s voice. If you want your friend’s voice, they must create and verify their own PVC, then share it with you. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- PVC slots exist so one person can hold more than one verified clone of their own voice in the same account. How many PVCs you can have depends on plan (Creator/Pro/Scale: 1; Business: 3; Enterprise: custom). You can also earn extra slots if your PVC is marked High Quality (HQ). (help.elevenlabs.io)
- Only PVCs are shareable. Instant Voice Clones and Voice Design voices can’t be shared. Having more than one PVC lets you share multiple of your own verified voices privately (whitelisting) or via the Voice Library. (help.elevenlabs.io)
- PVC creation requires the voice owner to complete the built‑in verification (voice CAPTCHA) after uploading samples; then the model trains. Your friend can do this on their own account and share—no need to be physically with you. (help.elevenlabs.io)
If anything above doesn’t match what you’re seeing in your account, tell me the exact screen/step and I’ll point you to the relevant doc.
