To connect your Telnyx account with ElevenLabs' SIP trunk, follow these steps:
1. Set Up Authentication in Telnyx
- Log in to your Telnyx portal at portal.telnyx.com.
- Navigate to Voice > SIP Trunking.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Under Authentication & Routing Configuration, select Outbound Calls Authentication.
- Choose Credentials as the Authentication Method.
- Set up a username and password for authentication.
2. Configure the SIP Trunk in ElevenLabs
- Once you've set up credentials in Telnyx, import the SIP trunk into ElevenLabs.
- Ensure the authentication fields (username and password) are correctly filled in the form.
- Verify that the SIP domain is correctly formatted as
sip.telnyx.com(without any "sip:" prefix).
3. Check SIP Connection Settings
- Ensure the SIP trunk is configured to use the correct transport protocol (e.g., TCP, UDP, or TLS).
- Confirm that your firewall allows SIP traffic on the required ports (e.g., 5060 for UDP/TCP or 5061 for TLS).
- Make sure your system supports 48kHz audio, as this is required for ElevenLabs' SIP deployment.
4. Test Outbound Calls
- Use the E.164 format for outbound calls (e.g.,
+6560358021). - Check Telnyx call logs to ensure outbound INVITE requests are being sent and received.
5. Troubleshooting
- If outbound calls are not working:
- Verify that the Caller ID is configured and international calling is enabled in Telnyx.
- Check Telnyx call logs for any errors or missing SIP traffic.
- Ensure the ElevenLabs agent is initiating the SIP INVITE correctly.
If you encounter issues, such as outbound calls showing as successful in ElevenLabs but not reaching Telnyx, verify the SIP logs for INVITE requests and response codes. If needed, escalate the issue to ElevenLabs support for further assistance.
i can only see the below as ip auth method:
There are 3 different optional mechanisms to further secure the IP Address authentication:
Tech Prefix: a 4 digits prefix that needs to be appended to the destination number
Token: a string that must be sent in a custom SIP header <X-Telnyx-Token> on the SIP INVITE message
P Charge Info: A telephone number associated with this connection must be sent in the P-Charge-Info SIP header on the SIP INVITE message
