how do i change server settings such as enabling pvp on or off and keeping items on death like on a single player server?

Hey, there are no 'official' server settings yet because Hytale is still in Early Access and therefore not fully polished. If you have OP rights, you can still use a few commands or edit the GameRules. 🙂

i tried giving my in game account op rights, but on the website when i type in my username it keeps saying "player not found"

also is there a list of commands?

You can give yourself OP rights by typing /op add <yourUsername> in the server console (but you need to be online for it to work).
I don’t have a complete list of commands myself, but you might find one in the Hytale Wiki. 🙂
