Hello there. Some friends and I started playing GT NH and used the "preinstalled" version which you can select from the G-Portal Mod list. G Portal is running the GT NH Java 8 Version which is bad causing massive lags. Now we tried to manually install a Forge 1.7.10 Java 21 Version, which didnt work.

My Step-by-Step was:

  1. Create a backup and download my existing world
  2. Download the Official GT NH 2.8.0 Java 17+ Version
  3. Wipe the Server and Install Forge 1.7.10 and select Java 21 (Java 25 would be even better for GT NH but G-Portal doesn´t support it?)
  4. While Installing the new Server I unpacked the GT NH Modpack and Changed the EULA to true and run the forge.jar. And zipped the whole file again
  5. I logged in via FileZilla and uploaded the Zip file
  6. Unpacked the Zip file using the G-Portal Interface (Unpack Here) and deleted the zip after that
  7. I tried to run it which didnt work
  8. Asked the GT NH Community where one told me to use the lwjgl3ify-forgePatches.jar instead of forge.jar (which is part of the Server Modpack file)
  9. That didnt work too and he told me maybe it is cuz of the java9args.txt which cant be processed by G-Portal

I do have some Screenshorts but after i added them i got a Warining: "You have received an automatic warning. Reason: Automatic action carried out for spamming attachments (6/10s)."

Help would be appriciated.

My Goal is to get a GT NH 2.8.0 Server running with Java 21 with my existing world. If that works maybe consider Updating even the releases of GT NH from 2.8.0 -> 2.8.4 (newest stable Version) but that would be after a working Server with a clean Back-Up
