from what the staff at Indifferent brocolli told us, Server and Pzserver is all we needed

empty bridge
#

you basically need the serverstart folder and the save folder

#

1 containing the sandbox settings and the other one the actual save.
But beware: PZ saves every tile to a file.
Means if you are far into your save, you will need to upload tens of thousands of files. Which takes time

cursive sierra
#

is the PZserver file the save itself?

empty bridge
#

In both cases (pictures) take the whole folder of these files and move them to the server.
It’s the same structure.
If you want we can go into a vc and I can explain.

I have transfered the files and this is what they currently look like

Saves>Multiplayer
pzserver
servertest

Server
pzserver.ini
pzserver_SandboxVars.lua
pzserver_spawnregion.lua
servertest.ini
servertest_SandboxVars.lua
servertest_spawnpoints.lua
servertest_spawnregion.lua

How can I set the server to use the files I have uploaded instead of the default?

Oh okay

#

Should be possible

#

Im Home in about 3 minutes

#

@cursive sierra im in game-help

cursive sierra
#

roger

#

hold on

empty bridge
#

We check in back tomorrow.

cursive sierra
#

okay so update-

#

we could join but

#

our character progress got wiped

#

fortunately our base is intact

#

and our Skill Journals are still useable

#

also another slight issue

#

we turned off Mod updates back in Indifferent brocolli, how do I re-enable it in G portal?

empty bridge
#

wait

#

you are missing one file i forgot.

cursive sierra
#

oh

#

which would be?

empty bridge
#

shutdown the server

cursive sierra
#

hold on

#

I just got home

empty bridge
#

do you still have access to your old server?

cursive sierra
#

unfortunately no-

#

although

#

we could ask

empty bridge
#

there should be a "db" folder containing a "pzserver.db" file

cursive sierra
#

I see

empty bridge
#

you need to upload this to your server and rename it to servertest.db

cursive sierra
#

yes

cursive sierra
#

to see if we could still perhaps recover it

#

because-

#

you know the weird thing I mentioned yesterday?

#

i think the server itself is still there

#

but just has a few outdated mods

empty bridge
#

might be.

cursive sierra
#

yeah

#

like, I could see my game trying to connect to it but can't due to mods

#

so I am hoping I could still get support to gimme some files

empty bridge
#

but what do you mean exactly with "auto update mods"
I dont know of such a setting. Ususally the server updates mods on its own on server restarts/starts

cursive sierra
#

I will just restart the server then

#

also has there been cases where

#

the RAM meter on the page

#

is bugged?

#

for some reason, for one player

#

it's using up 9 GB of ram-

#

but from what my friend said while playing

#

performance was fine

empty bridge
# cursive sierra the RAM meter on the page

the RAM meter is bugged on games like minecraft. I dont know of any other game server that has RAM meter bugs.
But since PZ is running on java like minecraft, this could be a thing.
I will ask internally to clearify this.

cursive sierra
#

I see, cuz even with mods, I think 9 gb for one player is just absurd

#

especially with only 110 mods

empty bridge
#

ye

cursive sierra
#

here's what I mean

#

aksi

#

also

#

where do I input in console commands?

#

I'm gonna compensate my friends by giving them some stuff

empty bridge
cursive sierra
#

ah,

#

how do I give my character admin?

empty bridge
#

do you know how to do that?

#

you gonna use a different connection method.

#

Remember where you put in your login name and password for the server?

cursive sierra
#

i know the command was

#

/setaccesslevel "name" (none/admin)

#

or at least

#

for Indifferent brocolli

empty bridge
#

instead of your username and password you gonna use "admin" and the password set in the gportal dashbaord.

#

thats the pre created admin account.

#

login with this one to the server and run the command. Then login back into your own account

cursive sierra
#

I see

#

or alternatively

#

use that account itself?

cursive sierra
empty bridge
empty bridge
cursive sierra
#

got it done, thanks!

empty bridge
#

no worries

cursive sierra
#

regarding the black friday sale

#

is it possible for us to claim the discount (IE get back 50% of what we paid) because we only rented the server like

#

empty bridge
#

Idk.

#

Ask in a ticket

cursive sierra
#

ah

empty bridge
#

But the answer is no

#

You can’t get a discount for already rented servers

empty bridge
#

Anything else I can help you with?
Anything working now?

#

Else I would close this thread and mark it as solved.Happy
