Another variation on this, at least 3 times since Hotfix for #3.
Zombs see at start of level, even before any 'real'/possible sense.
Just now started Old Ballard, 2 Zombs burst through the door.
This is before ever getting close, and it was with Penny!
This is the front door, maybe one step on sidewalk, maybe.
No way this would have happened, if past is prologue. 🤷♂️
I just share some experience of what you are describing: my survivor use a pool cue weapon to finish off a zombie close to the door at first level (loud weapon), the hitch post, even though the door was barricaded but the zombies on the other side was alerted and tries to bash through the barricaded door searching for the noise source. Old ballard issues, is it because u linger at one place for too long then the lurking zombies awaken?
Good find, I've noticed issues at Hitchpost too.
Don't think so, wasn't lingering because the level just started.
Still in the street before getting to the house.
I was playing on Hard, but also using Penny.
So it still doesn't register in my experience.
2 Zombs which means it's not only the one near the door.
Guessing, another roaming could see through the door.
Got alerted like a dog, when someone walks near by.
Then he alerted the sleeper, they both crashed the door.
As I approached the sidewalk.
I havent came across this since the dev team updated the fix on one of the updates. It is about the zombies that can get aggroed immediately at the start of the game like POGO's or Briarwood Motel and other places. If u still experience this scenarios best I think is to report in game bug with any details that u can give to the dev team. So far Old Ballard, I know the front entrance is a trap, theres a lurking zombie just beside the front door, one of the possible way if u linger too long it will alert the zombies. Im also playing hard mode as well. Texas Sport Supply from what u are describing on earlier post, If I use a loud weapon on the first floor outside around the basketball court to execute a roaming zombie, the noise from below will alert the 2nd floor standing zombies and become frenzy so yeah.
Also, the chain link fence doors sorta suck. You can see through them but then can’t then after is a liability
