Hi! If you’re only getting a single “*” or nothing at all as a response from all models (and your credits are still being used), here are the most common causes to check:

  1. Jailbreak/Custom Prompt Issue:
    If you’re using any kind of jailbreak, extra instructions, or custom prompts, this can break the model output and often results in responses like "*" or blank. Remove any jailbreak or special prompts, use just a single space, then start a completely new conversation to clear the chat history.

  2. Prompt/Chat History Corruption:
    If a prompt, chat, or previous jailbreak remains in your conversation history, it can cause every reply to be broken.
    Solution: Start a brand new chat/conversation in the website you use and do NOT paste in any custom instructions.

  3. Website Bug:
    Sometimes the website (such as JanitorAI, ChubAI, VenusChat, etc.) malfunctions or caches broken prompts. Try clearing your browser cache/cookies or use a different site to test.

  4. Model Bug/Overload:
    If the server is under extreme load, it might rarely cause odd responses, but this would usually affect everyone, not just you.

Steps to Fix:

  • Make sure you are not using any jailbreak, special instructions, or custom prompts.
  • Start a fresh conversation (not a continuation of old threads).
  • Use the Models Channel for correct, recommended model settings (especially temperature).
