nope, i just started workign on it yesterday
there is still bugs to fix and things to add, need to add replication so it works in multiplayer, need to add persistance also, and controller support, and also make sure the size of all items makes sense
i would recommend making the slots more transparent as well

well if you ask me, Arma Reforger is missing one important thing, and thats BOXES, I am surprised nobody came up with idea to create mod of a ammo/weapon box, one that you can carry around and fill with equipment and put in truck and transport and unload at specific locations
you know what its missing, loose ammo that you can load to mags

ah yeah, but the thing you are making with inventory tetris is much better to work on and much more needed
for sure, am also discovering new things with arma, like how the pockets on rigs are actaully storage containers them selfs
same with the light attached to rig, that is a storage that only accepts lights
actually I know that mod you are making is how deeply it works in reforger workbench i have seen that thing trough as I am game developer myself, & I am sure thats how Arma 4 will work, you are just bringing future faster π

Heine has a vehicle mod pack with a lot of em having fuel cans, bags, ATs and shit attached to the vehicles so you can grab em from outside but you cannot place them back where they were sadly

Imo it is one of the things Reforger lacks rn. You can load up all your ammo in the basically infinite storage backpacks and then reload from there or pull hotkeyed items out of there. Atleast in terms of munitions, I think it'd be healthy for the game if we had to actually use our rigs and such for more important assets for fights
here is a rig, as you see not 1 container, it has pouches that can hold anything, and has containers that can only hold 1 type, like the flash light and knife

this is not an addition from me, its actaully how the game works in background, it just that base game combines the pouches and makes the 1 type item ones invisable
I think the next evolutionary step might be to implement slot dividers. Like in a rig for example having vertical 2 slot spaces so only mag shaped or 1 slot items can fit
yeah am working on that actually, but needs to be realistic, like for example the field pack is not divided in real life (i think) so it can hold 3x3 items, but all this depend on real life, idk if the mag pouches on the rig in the image has actaully 2 mag deviders or its big enough to hold 2

yeah it will be super easy, go to item prefab, got to inventorystoragecomponent, you will see field for size, change it to what you want width height to be, done
and for split compoenents you will have list of pockets, you add pockets and set thier sizes, done

For the compartments you can take items to reload from/pull nades from etc, it'd be cool if it was a simple yes or no option in inventorystoragecomponent.
If it was, it'd enable very good support for modders and server hosts to create their own compatibility mods.

From what I spoke with him about previously, you will have to set up all modded equipment yourself, but compatibility to do so is there and it should be pretty straight forward.
it shouldnt matter if your using mods unless they also mess with the inventory then idk what will happen

This work wiht virtual spaces you can create on the vest, i explain my self. We have a mod where the radio have it designated slot on the Pouches, so it dont take space, just him slot (only adding the weithg and the function)

remember, you dont need to micro mange, you can still just drop item in storage and it will auto find the best slot in the grid, even auto rotate it self

In mod BetterInventory all containers take up one line in the inventory. Basically, it's like in DayZ, I hope I explained it clearly.

Actually started to work on something similar a week ago for BetterInventory, but pushed it back on the priority list. Glad to see someone else attempting it!
And BetterInventory is pretty simple, can easily be recreated currently so no need for dependency. But I imagine BetterInv would maybe conflict anyways as I do more than just the panels and blurred background

I will ask because I canβt currently test the mod, do you adjust the grid size based on how many items are within it, instead of a static approach? Or even have like a minimum size that can increase if needed for more item space?
That was gonna be my approach, as I wanted to maintain as much vanilla functionality as possible so modders did not need to add extra things for their items to work

no, custom sizes. The automatic mode did not display most my items larger than 1x1 correctly.
yeah, cause volume in base game is usually 1 number, so its hard to derive a 2 dimensional grid size from it
we still have to fix support for vehicles and fix bug with opening a storage inside a storage

yeah probably, i did not even set sizes of vanilla items its just auto sizing them, maybe some one can volunteer and do it as a mod dependecy

not yet possible, arma has 2 types of rigs, ones that directly hold gear and are 1 big storage, and one that have pouches with each pouch having its own storage

If applied to a system Like GRS, where the platecarrier is storageless, and then you attach all sorts of pouches to it, it does recognize the pouches separately. so you do get the "EFT" like solution.

Functionality vise this is good. UEX vise it will be a bit tedious, to scroll up and down, but we are arma players, we are used to minor inconveniences like this I think π
Also: Not sure if known issue, but it seems the "storage" is only running after you actually moved the object. During the initial load (pre-made loadouts, used by ScenarioFramework users) the logic is not applied.
