This is a fan creation attempt at bringing a limited amount of assets that are either from or inspired by assets from Arma 2 in an attempt to make a mod that brings the awesomeness that is Arma 2 to the Enfusion engine in a small semblance. Where we will bring some custom factions and bring some interesting gameplay to Arma Reforger with a feel/theme befitting Arma 2.

Hope everything with the mod is enjoyable by all and that we don't cause any headaches lol. All assets and inspiration is thanks to Bohemia Interactive and their amazing dev team. :)

Open the windows, I'm going to talk about the ChDKZ clothing.
ChDKZ fighters wear Podlesok in gray and green colors, and the M81 Woodland (what you already have in mod) camouflage is also seen, but not the original one, but a slightly larger one.
Context: The ChDKZ in Arma 2 wears commercial uniforms, mostly from the NPO Spetsmaterialy, also RPS Smersh from SSO and Chicom (what already there in game) rigs and it is difficult to say how many of them could have been in South Zagoria in 2009, unless we accept the fact that Moscow could have supplied the insurgents.
ChDKZ is a composite image of rebels and militias in post-Soviet conflicts. BIS may have been inspired by the 2008 conflict in Georgia, although it could also be the Transnistrian militias, the Chechen rebels, or even the Tajik civil war.

Both is commercial manufacturers of field uniforms and equipment who sold their products to Russian law enforcements and military in the 2000s.

To be honest, the ChDKZ should wear the KLMK, KZS, and CDF TTsKO. As well as Lifchik, chikoms, 6B2/6B3/6B5, Soviet weddings, SSh-68 or SSh-60 and other equipment from soviet warehouses.
But the commercial camouflages they get in the game give them their own unique style and vibe from the late 2000s, which I absolutely love.

CDF is just a US retexture, isn't it? Apart from the presence of the RPG-7, SVD, and PKM.
The CDF should have Czech voicelines and in the original, they wore 6B2s with Soviet weddings(validly replaced with 6B5 or 6B4 in 2009). And they are also armed with Soviet weapons, not American ones. In fact, they only have PASGTs in TTsKO cases from western equipment.
I think PASGT vests would look good too, but not for everyone.

I will say with the camo patterns however it is a bit difficult cause I have no idea how to do ports from one game to another like I've seen some people do, so I mostly was just trying to put together an alternative as close to color as possible.

As for the ChDKZ it is difficult because I don't know of a way to actually recreate the temperature of the French M81 that they use in Arma 2 since the color coding tool in the workbench is for the whole image that gets placed over the emat, not just one color in the pattern

I will still take what you said into the consideration of the final product of the mod though :)

For the future:

The Takistani Army wears Greek Lizard camouflage, Pioneer rigs, and Soviet SSh-68 helmets. They are also armed with FN FAL rifles but retain the nomenclature of the PKM, SVD, RPK, and other Soviet small arms. I would also like to point out that the Special Forces of Takistan do not wear shamags, but turbans with a face mask.

guaranteeing to do the AFRF at its full capacity is a BIG undertaking, that means creating all the branches of the Russian military, all its gear, vehicles, camo textures... the list is pretty big

I’d honestly just wanna have the Grf show up rather than full blown which seems more reasonable and wouldn’t make the mod too big, also would The Russian insurgents be allied with em or hostile, I know in the game they were allies for a while thrn they turned on eachother later on.

Yeah, I plan to make the base of all the faction from Arma 2 within the pack, so that includes the CDF, ChDKZ, NAPA, USMC, and RGF.

They will all get a basic recreation to match up to Arma 2 but then I will probably make some expansion packs that can downloaded separately to expand upon each faction depending on what players want to have added in

If I’m correct arma 2 is based in 2009, the RGF had used Vsr-98 flora which honestly is a goated camo.

In ArmA 2, the Russian Armed Forces are dressed a little strangely. At least the body armor is literally a 6B5 without pouches, which are replaced by a Pioneer rig.
In reality, during the same period, the Russian Army changed from 6B5 to 6B13, 6B23 body armor, and 6Sh92 rigs.
To be honest, it's difficult to find uniform equipment due to constant updates. Despite the fact that the 6B23 was adopted for supply in 2003, the army didn't see it until at least 2008. The same story with 6B13.
New products were released too often, despite the large number of older products, such as the 6b5. As a result, the vests introduced in 2003 were not released until 2008.
Ingame AFRF use experimental AK-107 rifles. Pretty interesting model, but not used in real life. AK-74M will be better and easier in modelling(or taking from other mod).
As headwear, SSh-68 in Flora cover or 6b7\6b27 helmets.

Well... Spetsnaz...
It's really hard to find something like universal style, cause they working on specific tasks and use specific equipment. However, in the game we can see Gorka with "SS summer" or "SS autumn" camo pads, as well as the familiar to you Smersh rigs and bandanas.
As weapon they use Bizon SMG, but it's strange, because military specops unit's prefer AK rifles in 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 calibers with suppressors(not always surely), so you can give AKM, AK-74 and AKS-74U or VSS Vintorez and AS VAL as main weapon.

And you also can add bonnie hats, caps and other light headwear. ||I love it too||

And it's much easier. Ingame MVD most similar not with MVD, But with FSB units.
ArmA 2's MVD wear full camo suits in "SS Leto", Smersh rigs and "Kora-kulon" vests (I guess?) or light version of "Defender" vest. Helmets on their heads is ZSh-2.

Im not sure in photos, because most of specops operators using own equipment what they can buy in military stores with commercial products. But I find familiar kits.
And yeah, some photos is airsoft players.

Guerilla nationalists faction with semi civilian equipment. Mostly they use German flecktarn and US m81 woodland, old AK rifles (AK, AKS) but have some weapons from CDF warehouses, probably civilian rifles. And as a good indfor faction they becomes american bitches very quicly.

When you play vanilla game master and you open the system category. The vanilla factions have entities for you to place down for players to use.

Like spawn points, arsenal boxes, etc.

My faction doesn’t have that. You have to spawn one of the vanilla factions items and change the faction manually.

Instead of just open the GM menu and placing a spawn point that is already set to CDF

I have never worked on any arma mods personally so I might be completely wrong with that, but bohemia should also have old mods they released in 2022 that act as samples for players to copy in the workbench.

I've noticed a weird thing eith spawning as rifleman or spawning the unit itself. For the chdkz, it sometimes reverts it back to a soviet rifleman and for cdf sometimes units have no magazines inside their webbing or lifchiks

Small Update Here For You Guys

After looking at the approach to the mod and exactly what it is that I want to do with the mod, I believe that it would be in my best interest to either reformat the mod, or save my time and break up the mod and then delete the original.

Not sure as of yet, just got to see what I can do to and how things work out :)

Mod Being Reformatted

So there will be a delay on the next update to the mod, however, I believe a lot of you will appreciate what it is that I am doing with these changes.

I know not everyone will want or need everything that we make for the project so we are going to break things up into several smaller mods that will all be dependent on a Core Mod, but not every single mod will be needed to have them function.

There will be independent faction mods for each faction, the US, USSR, FIA and CIV factions will have “faction replacement” mods made for them.

  • US = USAF
  • USSR = AFRF
  • FIA = FIA (Chernarussian Chapter)
  • CIV = CCIV (Chernarussian Civilians)

Project Statement - Taking a Small Break

So, today we have updated the fomatting of the mod, we have the replacement factions of the USAF and AFRF for you guys to be able to use. One thing to note is that there may be somethings that are broken.

Don't expect any of the compositions with functions; like the command post, vehicle depot, helicopter pad to work at this moment, still trying to figure out how faction settings for the compositions work.

The team and I are essentially just taking a small break from the work on the Arma 2 mod here to work on some other projects, do life things, and overall just give ourselves a mental break from starring at the Enfusion Workbench all day lol

Hope you guys are enjoying the content so far and feel free to let us know if there are any issues that may not have been addressed already!

Very nice mod you've made! Just two things:

  1. I think the Light AT Team in the USAF is bugged - it seems to spawn without being assigned to a faction (and therefore doesn't react to OPFOR and vice versa) - at least in GM

  2. Is there gonna be updates to the uniform textures to add a bit more 'depth' (wear/dirt) to match the vanilla textures a bit more closely?

USAF Issue

Due to the upload issue that has been going on recently, the USAF mod will probably show off the workshop...

Had to remove it to fix something, and I have to wait until BI resolves the upload issue with the backend before it can be put back up
