gunfire for some reason does not affect me as intended, or i misunderstood something? explosions work nicely (may-be tinnitus could be a bit louder and longer)

New suppression sound when an explosion happens too close: ringing ears and audible heartbeat.

I love the new sounds, they’re really a nice touch of detail. However when more than one explosion lands rapidly near you, it’ll cause multiple heartbeats to play. 😅 not a big issue but I thought I’d let you know.

It would be great to have some cap/limit for this shakes and effects, for example if you position being constantly suppressed (like in your video) for 5-10~ seconds your character adapts for this and screen shake less intensity/off for some time. Thats would be realistic (because irl after sometime in warzone your brain adapts flight or fight responses and you rarely even flinch if bullets lands near you, also your body produce much less adrenaline on this events after you adapted) and less annoying to stay behind cover.

And about camera shake, it looks very good, but strange on gun. I think its linear shamke? But there are also angular shake, which can be better. Also it would be good to simulate head flinches (on explosion/super close bullet) with "animated" (timed via script) camera roll (to left/right, up/down) - to make something like in squad/

Hi,
i am wondering, are their any protection animations already in the game, like hold left arm in front of the face or turn away in the game? Something like a small step back while getting in a little ducked position. Hard to describe 😅 If yes, this would be the most immersive way of adding suppression, when something explodes close by. Sound is one cool thing, but distracting view with blur or something feels always kind of artificial. Really like the ideas by Ashyl with the adaption process.

For the heartbeat sound, hmmm, for me to much and not realistic, cause this is something you feel more in your body, not hear. Hard breathing or coughing/moaning/swearing would fit more in my opinion. The brutal voices mod is a good example.

Anyways, just my two cents. Keep up your great work!

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah, I think the heartbeat might be a bit too loud, but I don’t feel like it’s totally out of place. Insurgency Sandstorm does the same thing and it feels good there. Stuff like that helps simulate the senses we can’t really experience as players, like fear. We can't feel it physically while playing, but the character should. The tricky part is how you show fear when it’s such an internal thing.

I like the idea of an animation for suppression, but I’ve got zero animation skills lol Adding sounds like coughing, screaming, and all that is a great call though.. that’s definitely going in. I’ll also tone down the heartbeat a bit.

The screen shake needs to stay though. I love how it feels, it gives intensity to firefights and explosions. Vanilla game always feels a bit dull in that regard

I wouldn’t mind the heart beat at all, but when you get multiple grenades in your face your heartbeat will increase to 350 haha

Really? I use lunacy audio on my own server and the only Russian gun that has any audio change is the AKS74U
