You can say it's APKWS (in a crude form) :kekwSmile:
The Binoculars Spawn an Invisible Mark with the desired code (visual for debugging in the video)
The Pilot or other Shooter on their vehicle sets the target code for the missile and launches it.
Unfortunately, there is no SOFLAM model yet

At the moment, it's already a Beta version, closer to release. The only thing left is to make the Server direct the missile towards the target, and for the Game to move it in the desired direction using the engine.

In the current Beta, the rocket's positioning on the server is handled by the Rpc component, and the rocket's visual appearance on the players' clients is not very pleasing.

Maybe someday, I have a root system, so to speak.
Maybe I'll do it (but I need a helmet model for realism) or other players will do it.

I haven't played Arma3, only Arma2 OA, and that was for DayZ.
Therefore, I have a vague understanding of Arma3 systems, only from what my friends have told me.

Hope this mod improves, not even for the missiles but the game currently barely had a good Ground Laser Target Designator for pilots and calling in Gun runs without saying (in the big field next to the tree)

This is really a promising mod, hope it succeeds <<3

well, WCS already has an ATGM, and I've made my own version, but I'm not sure if I'll release it.
I have plans to create the M982 Excalibur and 2K25 Krasnopol systems for Shell.

So far, there's only one problem: the player's client doesn't want to visualize the Projectile before it reaches its target. Instead, it launches it visually based on its ballistics. Despite its invisibility, the missile still manages to hit its target. kekwSmile

While my friends and I are looking for a good SOFLAM(Which can be used in AR without any legal issues) model to replace our binoculars with.
The new modular system for mortars and machine guns is just 1.5 inches tall. It's perfect.
Although, if I'm not mistaken (please correct me), the SOFLAM can also be used in the hands, not just on a tripod.

You probably already thought of this but have you thought about also adding some kind of drone systems to guide the rockets or whatever other munitions ? Kind of like The same way the Krasnopol shell and Orlan drones are used in Ukraine

In general, it was originally planned to make a system for Krasnoply (2K25) and M982 Excalibur.
But I went to the missile system (easier to implement under the current asset (Hydra 70)
And the necessary artillery systems (well-made at the RHS level) unfortunately do not exist. Self-propelled are difficult (you still need to do the interior and the mechanics of the tracks), towed are easier, BUT, there is no adequate towing (I started to do it, but the system does not sync well on the Client-Server)

Yea I knew the drone guided thing would be too difficult for arma. But speaking of self propelled what if you could add a “artillery computer” like the one on the M270 mod on something like a RHS 2S1 so it could guide GPS guided shells

It’s probably just as difficult as the drone stuff but I was thinking since the gps guided munition concept is already in game maybe it could be easier/smoother to implement

There is another problem with the same 2S1.
Shell Shells, like any Projectie, hit the ceiling of the game)))
Literally hit the sky, encountering mega air resistance.
this problem is known, but it has not yet been solved.

I need to consult with my team.

In 1.4, it didn't work as I wanted it to on the server (only in Single Player).

would it be possible to look at this from a different perspective, potentially as a standalone mod, which changes ground vehicle variable code e.g., "isaircraft = true" to enable Air to air missiles (e.g., AIM-92s) to also lock onto ground targets?

essentially making the ground vehicles register as air vehicles to faciliate lock on via air to air ordinance

At the moment, you have to aim roughly in the vicinity of the target for the guidance system to work properly. Is it possible to change this so that the system is more precise and/or more independent?

  1. There is a limit to the range of the mark, which is 1.5 km (I will change it to 3-3.2 km in the next patch
  2. The mark itself is not perfect - it is literally a transparent xob with a component.

Although I saw guys aiming directly at enemy vehicles (land-based) and the missile hit exactly.

Additionally, the mark only takes into account Terrain, as far as I remember.
We will try to improve it to take into account any Entity.What would literally be able to work on any surface.

On the screen above, I just threw, on Conflict, the guys worked on targets somewhere in the ranges of 1-1.5km

If higher, then the Rocket reaches the edge of the label and goes sharply into the ground.

We will still check this theory, but so far this problem looks like because of the range of the label.

  • Infantry “lazes” target

1️⃣ You take the Laser Binoculars in your hands, hold R(weapon inspection), you have 2 buttons available, this is HI(Green circled) and LO (circled)
2️⃣ After you set the codes, press R again (exit the inspection) and you can aim, look through a regular binoculars.
3️⃣ Aim, hold C, wait for the OFF indicator to change to ON (green)

thonk How do I set up the code on the rockets?
1️⃣ The top panel in the helicopter (you need to get to the action point somehow, it's terribly made, I agree), similar to the binoculars, there will be 2 buttons available: HI and LO. Set the code to the same as the player with the binoculars.
2️⃣ Turn the helicopter in the approximate direction of our target.
3️⃣ Shoot

🥲 What are the features?
1️⃣ The binoculars place a mark at a range of 4.2 km (or 3, I don't remember).
2️⃣ The missile currently does not read Layer.
3️⃣ The missile's target visibility angle is approximately 65 degrees.
