Hey everyone!
We’ve decided to dive into modding for the still-young Arma Reforger. Here’s our first map — it’s still a work in progress. A lot has already been done, but there’s still much more ahead. I’m starting this thread here so that people who’ve tried it out can leave feedback and impressions.

Over time, the map will be filled with core assets, and later on, we’ll polish it — including small details. Minor content on the map is subject to change, as well as the list of dependencies in Workbench. We’re still exploring what fits best, tweaking the balance, and adding or removing things as needed. So what you see now is by no means the final version.

Once the work is complete, I’ll be sure to post an update here. We’re just getting started — still a long way to go and lots to figure out, especially with Workbench. But for now, here are some screenshots to give you a sense of the map’s vibe.

Oh, and I almost forgot — Rogan’ is a 10,240 x 10,240 m² 1:1 scaled fullsize area based on a real-life location in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. The focus is on a cluster of villages and hamlets in the central part of the region, with a river, reservoir, fields, tree lines, and orchards. We’ll be doing our best to strike a balance between performance and that authentic East Slavic atmosphere.

Big thanks to community member TilW for his tools that greatly simplify the map creation process, specifically:
EnhancedMapTool and SeamlessMapTool.

Also, a huge thank you to the responsive Arma Discord server community — always ready to help with issues and bugs.

Work on the map is ongoing and will continue — many updates are ahead. We’ll be happy to hear your constructive criticism!

Thanks everyone, guys! At this point, I can say that the work on terrain, vegetation, and landscape is about 90–95% complete. So the landscapes and flora you see now won’t change much by the time the map is finished, except for the removal of minor imperfections.

Right now, we’re starting work on the settlements. You can already see the general concept for the placement and interior layout of buildings. We’ve tested it for performance — so far, everything looks good, and there’s no significant FPS drop.

Hi everyone, guys! We’d like to share a small but important update — the first major settlement out of all planned ones has now appeared on the game map: Rogan.

At this stage, we've completed the foundation — the core entities: courtyards with content.

What lies ahead:

  • Work on unique locations (the main square, village center, school, a residential block with Khrushchyovkas)

  • Polishing rough edges and fixing bugs (most Rogan-related issues are known to us and will be prioritized over time)

  • Enriching the streets with details. Although the courtyards and rural areas already feel lively thanks to detailed design, we also plan to bring the streets to life with cosmetic elements.

  • Optimization testing and, if necessary, performance improvements. Preliminary tests show optimization is within acceptable limits, but there's always room to tweak. Unfortunately, console players will likely have a rough time on this map — sorry in advance, guys.

We’re also continuing to improve the flora and terrain alongside everything else.

We hope everyone enjoys the scale of this — not only is map work new territory for us, but so is working at a 1:1 scale.

And here are a few screenshots for you.

Have a great day, everyone!
