BACKSTORY
Rosethorn Island is a fictional British Overseas Territory - a small, rugged, windswept island located in the mid-Atlantic, roughly 300 miles northeast of Everon.
Just 5 square miles in size, its terrain features rocky cliffs and densely forested hillsides. The island is home to five civilian settlements of varying sizes, most of which are located in the northern region. The most notable is the town of Thornmere, which serves as the island’s capital and hosts most of its municipal services, as well as the main civilian port.
In the south lies a large military zone, covering most of the southern half of the island. The airbase, RAF Thornleigh, has long served as a vital strategic site for the UK and its allies. Today, it provides a versatile training area for British forces and NATO units alike. With multiple ranges and diverse terrain, Rosethorn has become a favored training location for a variety of military organizations.
Rosethorn’s civilian population is around 5,000, though military personnel and tourism raise the total population to nearly 10,000 during the summer months. The island’s historical sites are well preserved and offer a deeper look into its heritage and strategic importance. In recent years, tourism has steadily increased, bringing well-deserved attention to this unique island territory.
