Did you try deleting the Proton prefix between attempts?
If not, I'd do so and try the Proton 10 beta.
Oh, you said you cleaned compat data, so I assume you did try this.
Could try sharing the Proton log from an attempt.
If it helps, I and my friends have tons of time in-game with some similar hardware and software combinations as you. I think there is a way this can be made to work for you.
