A science fiction mod based on a original IP. Inspired by games such as Battlefield 2142, Planetside, and Section 8. Background: In the future nanomachines are used for all manner of purposes, including manufacturing and warfare. A model of nanomachine controlled by AI goes rogue and begins dismantling organic and inorganic matter, turning large swaths of Earth into grey zones, where almost everything has been turned into a grey material by the nanomachines. Eventually a counter measure is created, a device that emits a area around it that deactivates the nanomachines, but requires large amounts of power. In a effort to save themselves the survivors of humanity begin building dense "ark" cities that hide themselves behind walls and anti-nanomachine "forcefields." Now Arks must send teams out into the grey zones to secure lost technology and gain the upper hand on competitors.

Yeah this looks pretty sick
Thanks!
loving the gasmask looking face piece
Added a bit of story background to the original post!
There are two main factions- Ark Expeditionary Forces, which is a allied group of Ark cities, and The Remnant , which is a nomadic group of survivor tribes that roam the grey zones living inside huge tracked vehicles, often in convoys. These tracked vehicles are huge and serve as mobile camps, providing facilities of growing crops and other necessities of life.
Example of a Remnant mobile base
Intent is to have two main game modes, one is a basic type that is essentially Titan mode from BF2142. Both teams need to secure control points to control automated weapons used to attack the opposing teams assault ship (for AEF) or Mobile Base (Remnant.) After the anti-nanomachine shield is destroyed opposing teams can breach the enemies base and destroy it from within. Gamemode ends when the base is destroyed.
Second gamemode, untitled ATM, is a more complicated take on the above - teams begin heavily restricted in what they can use and must explore the greyzone for lost technology and extract it back to their base, where it can be used to manufacture new gear. New weapons and equipment can also be found in the greyzone,. Eventually vehicles can be manufactured as well, but will require control of automated factories in the greyzones.
Of course the factions, equipment, etc can still be used by other creators for their own gamemodes, gamemaster, whatever, but it will all be packaged in one mod, unless size restrictions become a issue
I like your ideas here!
Will those vehicles mentioned above be GM props only? Or will they be drivable?
I really like the lore so far!!
There will be smaller drivabale vehicles of course, tanks, buggies etc. If you wean the mobile base and assault ship I want them to be, but IDK if there is the capability to do so, as they will have their own navigatbale interiors
but yes I would love it if they could be
Looking forward to what you cook up!
mobile base? would it have a vehicle spawner by chance or be more-so a traditional vehicle?
do you mean a spawner for itself, or a spawner inside it to spawn other vehicles
I want the mobile bases to have basic manufacturing capabilities including basic vehicles
well, they WILL have that. What waits to be seen is if these bases will actually be mobile or not. I suspect they will be static for while, it's not a top priority atm
The AEF assault ship might even be turned into a ground vehicle instead of a air ship depending on when I can get aircraft implemented or other means of getting on/off
a spawner inside of the vehicle, to spawn other vehicles
Following simply for the planetside vibes
Following
Oooh that look awesome asf, I'm following this!
HG-M 17, Hand Grenade, Modular Faction: AEF
This hand grenade is the basic issued hand grenade for AEF soldiers. It is a modular grenade composed of a unified screw-in detonator module with a rotating timer ring, and a lower grenade body. The lower grenade body comes in multiple variants, such as Frag, HE, demolition HE, and even gas. The grenade body includes a screw-in section in the bottom, allowing additional grenade bodies to be attached but still detonated by a single detonator. In this way the HGM platform can be customized to suit the needs of the soldier in the field, from demolition missions to crowd control to active combat situations.
The HGM platform exemplifies the AEF's concept of standardizing equipment across Arks, greatly increasing manufacturing capabilities and reducing the amount of equipment soldiers need to train to use in the field.
