So some people have been asking for a stand alone version of Darkgru's GI Jane so I made a simple pack containing some uniforms sculpted to have a more feminine figure. At the moment it includes one head and a couple of hair options.
I plan to add more stuff to it as I find the time to do it like civilian clothing (cold war and modern), ideally more heads, hairs and other uniform options.

This is really a very simple mod, it's literally just a chopped head that hides the base game head and I haven't even gotten around to properly weight paint the different face bones, but it gets the job done.

They're just sculpted uniforms, nothing is automatic here.. so it's basically just putting on pieces of gear. I don't have the brains to do what other geniuses here do... But the good thing is that the uniforms need to be made regardless.

This is great Elisa, but you should respect the maximum head sizes recommended by Reforger. There is a file called HeadSize_Template.fbx that you can use to correct your head to make it more compatible with caps and helmets.

Thanks Jove, I might actually make slightly deflated versions of the head so they fit better with base game hats. Wasn't a problem until now since I made this to be compatible with the stuff we use in darkgru but since this is standalone it makes more sense now.

Well @rich edge, I confess I was trying it on and I liked what I saw, but when I tried on the clothes and hair I realized that you weren't following the limits that Reforger sets.
You know, deep down I'm interested in the compatibility of our models.
For the clothes it's a similar thing, because for example if you dress the shirt, a piece of the waist disappears and it becomes transparent.
My recommendation is just to sculpt those parts a little bit and then everything will fit with everybody, it will look nice mixed with RHS clothes and others.

Let's say that these blue lines are the parts of the body that are made invisible... so you must adjust your models to these parts if you are going to hide them.
For example the boots or the shirt.
And on your trousers, the waistband is a bit wide and wide even for the men's model.
If you adjust all this more to the format that Reforger proposes (you can do it simply by using the sculpt in X symmetry to move and adjust everything) you will gain a lot of compatibility.

I see what you're saying and it's something I tried to do at a certain point (which is the body I think Zelik still has but I'm not sure). So your feedback is greatly appreciated. No need to apologise for the long text haha.

In this very case, we could say this is just a "female clothing" pack and not a female body model. In the future when I add more things to it, the reforger body will be literally hidden and replaced with sliced pieces of the female body I'm using as reference.

In this pic for example, the base body is not being used except for the lower arm portion. The pants hide the corresponding base model parts and the top hides everything but the lower arms, hands get hidden by the gloves. And I plan to do the same for things like tops that "show some female skin".

It's basically a workaround and not really a final solution for the main problem.

that's a great idea, although it has a problem, and that is the skin color. maybe if you use the name of the body material, the body will get the color of that part, although not being the standard body either, anything could happen.

You are right on that one. Normally I don't face that issue since if I get a non matching skin I just reload the kit in Bacon Loadout Editor, but indeed, I have to give some thought about people who want to use it without it.

By the way, I'm not disregarding anything of what you're saying. I think what you propose is the professional way of doing it. I'm just hitting the problem from a more simple approach. This is literally what got me into modding lol.. you have no idea how much I've learnt just by messing with the stupid female model idea.

Just a detail and I won't bother you any more...
The _NMO, you are doing them one point wrong. The Red and green channel is the NORMAMAP, the BLUE is the METALLIC and the alpha OCCUSSION.
Normally you will see that the _NMO textures have a yellow color, and it is because the blue is normally black, few metallic details on a body or clothing.
You should check that in your _NMO.

secondly thx for the reply! what bigger problems, rolls well for now from my viewside here. ;) But jeah okay i got your point! i also understood or let me say i believe that the needed focus on quality you and we all would like to have in vanilla is time consuming aspect of it - but is that hard to build it? okay extra clothes and stuff, but i would think the arma female ultra fanbase would hype and deserve it! :) <3

I tried your female head mods with the uppercut mods and it fit well! Except I have to use the US arsenal since there none for uppercut atm

Finally settled in Tokyo so I can get back to this.
Still a lot of work ahead but I'm working on some civvy fits. Most likely won't be customizable at first because matching them, fixing clipping and stuff is a royal pain in the ass. But they will probably suffice for people who want to have female NPCs moving around. These clothes will also eventually work if I ever move on to a more advanced body.

Since they will most likely clip with vests, I'll probz give them enough carry capacity for a couple of mags and light items but that's going to be part of the enfusion part of the work which I'm not looking forward to lol

I'll also add another head and a couple of hair options. Might ever retexture some stuff too. Who knows... I am kind of excited now that I finally figured how to bring Marvelous Designer models down to a usable in-game tri count.

I would, however, everything in reforger (and other games) is tailored to male stuff. It's really a matter of weight painting and re-rigging.

Reality is, there are several offerings already with that target in mind. If you're aiming for something else just let me know.

Military clothing is often similar to men's clothing when worn by a woman... It is a question of standard design that does not have much in mind the aesthetics.

Fitting to the existing kit it's not really a problem.. that can be solved by using deflated models. Is it a bit of a pain? yeah definitely...
Are curves necessary? Not really... but I don't have the brain power to make a slightly smaller character, and most of the female users of the pack actually appreciate the curves (some have even asked for more lmao).

Maybe one day... tbh I haven't had any time to do anything whatsoever. I added a couple of crop tops that I made for fun some time ago, which lots of people begged me for them.
But aside from that I plan to make something more universal with the limited time I have. Retexturing it's not a big deal since I have all the ID maps for the assets I'm using but the short list I want to focus once I find some time would be:

  • Civvy outfits (at least 4)
  • Expand hair options (at least 2 more)
  • Expand head options (ideally black and asian).
  • Add a generic Russian uniform in a couple of color variations (I have a gorka that I need to retopo and retexture).

I'm just swamped though...
