Cool was thinking about something like this. Curious tho how is the front line moved? By amount of players in one area or something like more smaller capture point like steel division? or just ordinary one team attacks and the other has to defend?
That sounds interesting. Looking forward to hearing more.
Hell Yeah, Dynamic Frontlines
This was one of my favorite gamemodes in A3
I don't even remember it from A3
Interesting
First version released! https://makearmanotwar.com/entries/60E108D10E842BFC
Are you able to place FOB and bases to extend radio connection, for players to be able to hear each other?
depends. Not the Arland map included no, but it should in theory be compatible with Conflict maps where you could capture bases just not win from capturing them
Then in that case, I have a bug to report
After about 1 KM, radios stop working entirely, making effective communication in enemy territory impossible
2km if you build antenna in main I guess
Would it be possible to make it so you can place multiple Command Trucks on map? Im trying to run only this scenario without Conflict gamemode and this is the only problem I have with it. If you manage to do this it would be revolutionary, but BI is planning to do something like this in the future so I don't know if it is worth it
I updated it this week such that you can place multiple command trucks and they connect to each other. You also need radio signal to contribute to territory calculation. Grab the latest version
Yes it works! When I was testing I spawned command truck from GM. Thanks for this great scenario!
IMO only problem would be that you can't build with MCU until Sergant rank and since there is no AI and such it's not easy to get it. So maybe drop that to corporal or even private.
iirc I set it at 100 points for every enemy you kill. The Southern Everon scenario included has AI to play with.
That is great. Mind asking if you have any other plans for this gamemode?
Another thing I have found is it would be great if you increased build radius around MCU a bit, to make it closer to regular base build radius
I want to see how it plays with a large group before deciding on next steps. So, let me know if you hear of a busy community that wants to try an event or sth.
My unit has a good server to try it on, but not enough players to populate it completely. So if any other unit wants to test let me know and we can organize an event for this. Server is in Europe
will you be making a GM versions?
Sure. Would fun if GM can put down a capture zone of chosen size anywhere.
Hi. You have done a great Great job with this mod. We have a small Finnish arma community and we were wondering if it would be difficult to make a mod that would work in normal conflict so that points are calculated normally, but you can make multiple mobile command trucks and use them to build bases?
@echo pelican Creator is @vast kestrel
Thanks
And fyi, showroom is not a channel for asking. I expect it would get removed.
already deleted
Steve, can you tell me where the mod settings are in Armoury Tools?
On gamemode object you can change bounds the bottom. Other settings shared with conflict
Do you mean GameMode_Campaign?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I still couldn't find where the radii are changed. Is there any documentation for this mod at all?
And I also noticed what might be a bug, or maybe not, but when the infantry is in the centre of the map without capturing the rest of the map, the victory report begins.
idk what you want by "radii", but if you mean like how much one player or base or sth moves visualization compared to another then there is not that feature; each edge of line you see exactly half way between you and them. No documentation. In 1.5 it's working much simpler to understand, just bases built by players contributing to territory calculation.
What about the fact that one person entered the centre of the map and the victory timer started?
.
can you elaborate? e.g. was that person the only person on map? Anyway in 1.5 player dont affect it
Yes, the man was the only one, and what is version 1.5?
version 1.5 of Arma Reforger. It's not on stable release yet
One man can capture all if not bases or enemies around; front-line is calculated as half-way between players/bases and closest enemy players/bases. So like, one man alone on as island has conquered the island.
victory timer starts wen one side has like 2/3 of map
Am I correct in understanding that the mod is designed for version 1.5?
Interesting concept, but yeah would probably work better if there is an outer border defined around the island.
@vast kestrel Hi there)
Hope you are fine) Found your mode that is really cool! however I see, that it is not optimized for new version of Arma. Now it has problem with compilation. May I take you scripts and create Frontline mode for our community? I can attach you as original creator or I don't know how it have to be correctly)

Are you thinking about remaking that Frontline mod for Arma 3? Because that would be really great!😉
@vast kestrel Dude, hope you're alive)
Do someone knows can I take mode files and use them in mine, if original mode creator do not answering. Don't wanna recieve ban because of this case)
If it’s used as a dependency, you probably don’t even need to ask; otherwise, the creator’s approval is required.
I can't use it as dependency because it is broken for current 1.6 version 🙁
I fixed new version on exp but forgot to upload it when release came. will upload that today or tomorrow
