This mod introduces two essential stats: Food and Water. Each stat is refilled with a gadget component for easy food and water creation.

Food: Decreases by .013 every 30 seconds. Starvation damage begins after it reaches 0.

Water: Decreases by 2 every 30 seconds. Dehydration damage starts after it reaches 0. Once hydration reaches 20% or less, you can no longer sprint until you replenish the stat above the threshold

The mod is plug and play with any conflict scenario that uses US and USSR Factions.

only known issues are items dont delete on use and if you spam the item when you hold it it crashes you

Are the food items set up as consumables in the GadgetComponent? That should make them delete after use

I'm using the metro props for now until i get my assets done. I added a beer, whiskey, and MRE

you now go uncon when drinking too much.
10 beers or 5 whiskey you pass out.
MRE refills 45 food and apple only 25
water refills 50 (adding a canteen next that can be refilled)

They have meat and bacon I think..they might have American mre.. You can find them in Assets

you can cook or grab a MRE from US arsenal or crackers from USSR arsenal both replenish the same amount 25 hunger
Cooked Steak (the big one) fills 75 hunger
cooked meat fills 50 hunger
canteen fills 50 hydration
water bottle fills 25 hydration
beer (red bottle) fills 10 alcohol

May I suggest, flatulance if you eat too much so your character will fart and burp loads if you eat too much too quickly

Yeah that was my thinking, you can’t exactly make vomit like dayz for example so farting and burping is probs next best as clownish as it sounds

I’d defo make it an option tho as I know for a fact milsim units will be trying to do shit and a group of new guys will purposely be making their guy fart and burp all along the way

Sure, but i meant if you suffer effects during the process that leads to death, such as blurred vision, reduction of stamina, effects that force the use of water and food to maintain a state of performing activity!

Hi, congratulations! I've been waiting for someone to do this for a long time. I also used food in Survive Everon, but I could only replace blood loss, I made food based on the saline bag, which is available in the reforger.
I started using your mod, which gives a great extra experience in a survive scenario.

Hi! We've been playing a lot with my own Survive Everon scenario in the last few days, which already includes your mod.
The first 0.5 - 1 hour is very balanced, only after that we had to get water. Later we got hungry, so in about 1.5 hours we had to drink at least 2 times and eat once. That was good. What was really distracting later was that we got thirsty very quickly, we had to drink about every half hour. We play for 3-6 hours at a time, which means we had to spend a lot of time drinking.
Can I change this so that the character gets a little thirsty later? I was thinking 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes, and I'll adjust the meals accordingly.
Thank you very much for this mod, fantastic plus realistic experience!

USSR and US Canteens
USSR Crackers
US MRE
I wanted to make the mod more simple also wanted it to be plug & play for conflict modes without all the AI starving

Hey Skunk, how is the metabolism node handled? Is it a custom component? If it is, then you came assign the component to only the campaign_player_base prefab for each faction and the AI will not need to eat!

basically if you have specific prefabs in your inventory, you press F or Y (for xbox) it deletes the prefabs and after a set time it spawns a new "cooked" prefab either on the kitchen or in your inventory

Needs some sort of semi obnoxious screen fx like ace medical has to tell you you need to drink some mf water.

Also, the items need UI action indicators. I know it says it in the description but there's no UI action on the bottom left.

A question I have while testing the mod. Do the water and food indicators work seperately towards death time? Or do they have to both be bottomed out to start a death timer?

when they reach 0 you will slowly begin to die. Dehydration kills you faster than starvation.

sorta i added a burnt option and now it skips the cooked option and goes right to burnt. might just make the burnt option the cooked and release it like that temporarily

yes the new version changes it to where the metabolism component is no longer needed on character prefabs. instead its a modded CharacterControllerComponent. but you will need to add the HUD to the Base Character tho

Life is really hard in that scenario, there's not much loot. Also, sometimes we're adventuring for 4-6 hours straight, so it would be a lot to drink and eat every 30-40 minutes.

this was removed until i finish my own cooking system and it will be different mod that uses the metabolism as a dependency so people can have choice to have cooking or not. I'm just trying to make or find the right models for raw and cooked food. People can use Mikes Cooking Framework and set up the field kitchens in their scenarios kind of like what I did originally but it has too many dependencies for what i'm going for so I removed it. This mod is pretty much a core mod so people can build upon it and make things around it

Metabolism can be used in any gamemode except Everon Life. It doesnt like it for some reason. The US have a canteen and MRE, the USSR have a canteen and Crackers. When yyou start starving or dehydrating you take damage every 30 seconds. The wells around the map allow you to drink as well

That might help? I think the bigger thing is the UI isn't there yet for player satisfaction across the board. Animations were a huge step in that direction. Screen FX and possibly buffs/debuffs would be an amazing expansion I think would satiate players not into it as a whole.

I'm working on debuffs. Currently if hydration hits a certain percentage you no longer can sprint. I was thinking of adding the uncon screen effect if Food or water get low. Just trying to make this fit Conflict and Ops without making it feel like a Survival mode lol

So I don’t have you metabolism mod downloaded I really don’t know the effects of hunger and dehydration. I tested it on Single Play as I’m just playing Barbie’s testing other assets I do get dehydrated and hungry but I see no effects on the body really I’m not sure if there’s maybe another mod hindering I’m not even sure if there is an effect

No. It’s a dependency that is scripted to use a component that is on all characters.

Its meant to be on the brink of death pop one to give you a little more time to get medical help but currently it fully heals you and stops bleeding

@open thunder is there a way I can adjust the drain times and damage modifiers for hydration and energy? I am seeing it in the SCR_CharacterControllerComponent scipt and I know what fields I need to adjust, but I don't know if I create my own script using Metabolism as a dependency if it will override the CharacterControllerComponent script.

Yes you should be able to duplicate it.

You need to sniff around in the arsenal.
But this an easy fix on the mod side. The equipment needs to be identified as equipment the same as a radio is.
