thank you for pointing in right direction. Is there anything specific regarding arma or general rules will apply? I will now go googling trim sheets
Arma uses image textures the same as anything else, they use rvmats though as a sort of material to process textures like specular and gloss. Look up the wiki page for rvmats to get an idea of them
I base myself on rvmat presets and then edit them via notepad, is there any way to do it properly/speed up the process? The rvmat editor in object builder for me is waay to laggy and does not save paramenters so I just go with notepad++
