this is crazy
So cool!
@fierce cobalt What happens if you target the hologram? Hologram-ception?
I just shows the model. The entites are copied first then put on the table so no hologram-ception
Nice
This is insane lol
since terrain texture isnt rendering maybe it would be cuter to apply some gray material on all the entities? so its visually consistent
looks super cool
very nice
Both the idea and the execution are very impressive. Now I want this for every mission briefing.
Wonder if it’s possible to make a table with a paper map like the one in your hand for like the older op folks
Yes it should be. You could either put a static texture on there or maybe even put the map widget into a render target and so it it can be zoomed and panned live on the table XD
@fierce cobalt how are you getting the terrain mesh?
Creating it with height points of target area
That could be used to create the "debug zone" like older Arma games had with landlocked maps
I was gonna do something along those lines and never got around to it.
Mission briefs will another level.
yo this is so cool
it would be so cool to have that table as some military table with radios on it
or anything like that beside futurusitic hologram
Very cool! Is the hologram local to each client? Does it update in real time if for example someone is driving a vehicle?
Its not MP compatible yet, but I think local on each client is the way. And no its just a one time snapshot. I guess I could make it update every couple seconds tho not sure about lag
A hologram component that has a reference to the real entity may be a good way to update them real time. Just have it update transform every frame based on the real one, I dont think itd be too performance heavy especially if its local to each client, or add in a defined refresh rate. However you do it still very cool!
I love it
Ace combat vibes
Would love it if you could obscure some stuff to use it like "known intel" and not magically showing what actually is there. Execution and idea is superb though!
@fierce cobalt when rts mode?
