My first mod I plan on releasing will be overhauling the us base faction to fit marines in wars like Iraq and Afghanistan
I suggest a PLA faction
And using various mods a overhauled base game AI
Do you know of any mods that use PLA prefabs and gears cuz I can certainly do that in the future
There is no mods yet so… that’s why I suggest reskins or new gear!
I am very very new to modding all I know how to do on reforgers is overhaul factions since it is extremely simply so I would not be able to do that but I would be able to overhaul to soviet faction with pla gear if a mod included that gear ever was released

Yea I could no problem overhaul the us faction to fit this, I do not know how to create an entirely new faction I have tired and it is extremely difficult but overhauling gear is very simple so I will for sure try to get to this in the near future

Kinda, I’m not sure about actual stuff from that area I’m sure there’s lots of model one could find but my best suggestions would be primarily the tf mattock stuff from Aussiemerc as well as the old cars mods, might need some slight tweaks, modifications and retextures to get the completely down but those are my suggestions
They have their own factions and they are great I just plan on overhauling the base factions to use gear I like for example I am going to be releasing a U.S. marine arid overhaul that uses RHS gear
I’m not sure how old cars is about using his stuff as dependency’s but I know Aussie is fine with it as long as you credit him for the mattock stuff in the mod description if I remember correctly
No I mean is there a mod in the workshop that uses ranger gear that you would like to see be used in the overhaul becuase if not then I am just going to use whatever gear fits the best but if you have a mod that uses gear you like them let me know

Yea that’s kinda what I was thinking when you mentioned rangers because Aussie merc actually had a mod including rangers gear im not sure if that is still a thing though

They added in a playable marine faction for blufor
I had some difficulty’s creating the marine overhaul so I am going to get back to that at a later time I am going to try to do an insurgent overhaul and see if that works out better
It’d be a breath of fresh air to finally see basic Grunt Marines/Infantryman in Arma. I’m kind of getting bored of the whole Special Forces get up
That was my exact thoughts and plans but I finished everting and went to publish it and it kept giving me an error message so I’m going to try again at a later date if I can figure out what the problem is

I would love to use this right now I am just trying to figure out how to make the uploading work becuase I keep getting a error message saying addon processing failed and it only oops up when I try to upload a mod with more then one character overhauled if u know how to fix this I would be very grateful

I’m very new to modding so I dont know exactly how everything works so I don’t know exactly how I would receive your mod and use it as a dependency
Once I have it i know how to work with it I just don’t know exactly how I go about receiving and using it

Idk how to mod either but you should be able to add these as a dependency then use the outfit components for a custom Faction

Gas mask is from task force mattock, the balaclavas and goggles from the equipment pack mod but those are just optional

My next project is going to be an insurgent overhaul of the fia faction using the MEPcivil mod

It’s not everything I wanted it to be I wanted it to be much more complex but that’s all I had to work with, it’s a start though
Definitely a start they look like marines and it will be even better once you get the other factions done
If you get done with this quickly then you should use phantoms first cav clothing mod with the one m16 mod to make a Vietnam USA faction
I actually did have a Vietnam overhaul in mind there is currently one on the workshop but I wanted a more complex one so this will definitely be happening in the future
Sweet maybe also FIA=VC and soviets= NVA I know there are some clothing mods out there too
I also had that in mind as well especially with the new Vietcong drip mod, I have a lot of mods in mind I have always wanted to see but did not have the capabilities to make them myself untill now so there will be many many more in the future

Yes absolutely the marines mod was kinda like a test since it is my first mod so it is a minimal as it gets but i plan on makeing in more detailed in the future and as more marine based gear mods are released

I know that phantoms 1st cav has good helmets and I heard that the colors will be tweaked further to make them a little more accurate
It also has the boots and a vest tweaked to match the uniform
Ya if your wanting to make a Ranger mod the mods you’d want to use would be Aussie mercs tf mattock mods as well as old cars gear, spent today going threw which mods would work and which won’t

Right now on my list of things I want to bring is a Eastern European/Slavic milita, ww2 overhauls, modern U.S. army, modern Russian army preferably representing them in Ukraine, a Ukriane army, an African rebel group, and much more you can be looking forward to all of these within the next few days

I redid the Vietnam era us overhaul and it looks much better
Would you be willing to give the saw gunner a 60 instead and take the scopes off all the m16s then I think it’s polished
Yea I didn’t want the scopes on there but I couldn’t find a prefab without them other then the granade launchers and I can definitely change the saw to a 60

I do not know how to make guns and stuff I’m pretty new so all I know how to do is faction overhauls

That’s how the guns prefabs come so I don’t have an option to do that but I am planning on giving them better guns if I can learn how to add a dependency to an already existing mod so it is in the works
So if I can figure out how to do that I will give them more realistic m4 builds

I think RHS still has a prefab of the m4 with acogs but idk I’m away from my console rn🤷🏾
They do but it is a very large mod for just a gun so I only want to use it if I can’t find any other mod

if you are using RHS as a dependency, it is mandatory to use RHS license in the dependency mod instead of APL / APL-SA

When publishing you are asked what license you choose. IRC the options are APL, APL-SA and custom. Pick custom.

you should use the m110 mod for the marksman, and replace the m14 with that
zeliks and rhs dont work together? they seem to be working fine on my server, its been doing ok. maybe im just lucky
I did do that on the marines mod so I’ll see about adding it to the army’s mod
I was thinking the same thing I have never had a problem with them working together
iirc the marines use like the m38 dmr but i dont think theres a mod for that (its pretty much just an m27 with a longer barrel and a standard issue 4-8x)
maybe rhs will add it in the future, most likely from the path theyre going down, no guarantee though

i really like this one because it makes fia seem much more modern and militia-e instead of just a “militia” that uses a weird uniform and almost all of them use the same gun
Yea I have always hated how the fia have such a standard set of gear when they are based on rebel fighters
I also want to add a mod in the future that makes the fia look like a South American gurilla group

Yea the next thing I am going to be working on is a African rebel group and a modern day pirate mod kinda based around Somali pirates

Yea and I might even add a Mogadishu milita mod if I can find good assets to make it but all the civilian clothing mods look very western based so i can’t really make a good mod to represent them
Like if there were any mods with kandoras, or dishdashas, I would be able to make a great Mogadishu militia but there isn’t that I know about

It never really crossed my mind but there is a few good British gear mods so I might make one in the future

Yea right now I am getting through the months of ideas I had that I didn’t have the necessities to create, and when I get done with most if not all of my own ideas I am going to be taking as many suggestions I can get and turning them into mods
I am going to be working on a Russian pmc mod soon that is going to resemble Wagner group
Is there way to remove the suppressors from the AI and give them a scope or something or is that just not possible / too tedious?
When choosing a weapon mod for the mod I was misled by the preview of the mod so when I got into making it the wepons did not look how I wanted them to, this being said I do plan on replacing them with better m4s without the suppressors and everything

The only thing is I have to know how to replace the dependencies with one that works which I do not yet know how to do that is why it is taking a bit of time so as soon as I figure that out I will update the mod with better m4s
The only better M4 that I know of would be the M4A1 RIS in the Blufor/Opfor mod by Aussie but that would add like 500mb of more dependencies
And I know rhs also has very good m4s but that is like a 3gb mod

I'm not trying to belittle your work, but why do soldiers' weapons in the US Army overhaul have so many attachments?
No this is a totally reasonable question, the reasoning is I had a very hard time finding a good standalone m4a1 mod since most of the good m4 mods are attached to other huge mods like RHS and task force mattock opfor blufor, so the one that is currently there is the only one i could find and it’s prefabs come with all of thos attachments which I cannot remove from workshop
I do plan on replacing them with better m4s but first I need to learn how to add a dependency onto an already existing mod

With the help of olmo i figured out how to add dependencies onto an existing mod I will be changing the guns in the us faction shortly
I just updated the mod and replaced the m4s with a much better model from RHS
The only downfall is I had to use RHS as a dependency and it is a very large mod but a majority of you if not all of you should already have it due to it being extremely popular so this shouldn’t cause to much problems

Really only an issue for Xbox players because the cap is 5mb/s and can get as low as 250kb/s
Yea true but I feel like at this point every person on the game has RHS already downloaded, weather from a dependency from another mod, or a dependency for a server it is a very popular mod

For the us Vietnam overhaul, would it be possible to remove non Vietnam era equipment from the arsenal? PASGT, m16a2, m249, etc

All the updates are just me adding screenshots to the mod to draw in more attention so don’t get to excited, I will also be patching and polishing a few mods on top of that
I am also thinking of adding a middle eastern extremist mod that will look similar but all the units will wear all black

I replaced the m60 in the modern us mod to an m240B and I replaced the m249 in the Vietnam era us mod to the m60
Right now I am redoing much of the Vietnam overhaul, I am replacing all of the guns to add more appropriate guns including DP28s instead of pkms, ak47s instead of SA58s and ak74s, and VZ 52s instead of svds and this will reflect on both the Vietcong and the pavn
I am also changing a few clothing pieces including adding a new hat for the Vietcong, and completely redoing the pavn uniform with a more accurate mod
What happened to the PLA mod? Why did it go down and get reuploaded?
How many dependencies does this pack have?
I believe it now is going to have 7 dependencies after I update it, I removed the Vietnam clothing dependency as well since I am replacing everything I was using in there with the nuts Vietnam dependency
Here is v2.0.0 of the Vietnam overhaul mod I replaced all guns with more Vietnam era appropriate weapons including ak47s VZ 52s and DP28s, and I completely redid the pavn gear
itd be nice to see your middle eastern alliance faction a little based off squads, like using g3s and maybe for squad leaders AKs
but im not entirely sure if theres a g3 mod yet
I actually had an idea for a middle eastern faction so this is a great idea, I will most likely do this if I can find all the right mods I need
Ideas for African rebel mod, this will not directly resemble the African rebel mod at is final form this is just some ideas and bases I created to see if I had everthing to create a good one
I think the fourth character is very good and looks like a member of IRA
This mod turned out great I have a few things to polish but I am extremely tired so I will have to come back to that tomorrow, I also have a Somalian pirate mod planned for tomorrow

Yes I actually have a Russian faction using eminence mod in the works, I plan on releasing several different versions of a Russian overhaul that represents several different wars like a modern Russian overhaul, a Russian overhaul of the Chechen war, and a Russian overhaul of the Ukriane war

I also have in mind of starting to work on a afgan army overhaul, a middle eastern alliance overhaul based on the game squad, and a U.S. army overhaul in the early 2000s to represent the early years of the Afghanistan war and U.S. army overhaul of the mid 90s to represent the battle of Mogadishu

i just did some test and i am able to mod, modded factions so with this i plan on using the civilian faction mod to bring in civilans for all my mods that u can use along side them
i figured out how to make the characters all have one identity so now i made all the african rebels african and im going to make all the vietcong asian
My Vietnam overhaul mod is out of commission for the time being, one of the dependencies got banned so I’m going to replace it and put it back up as soon as possible

If you could ever salvage vergys stuff, a swat themed one be cool using the police vest and black tac helmets etc
Tho I think trident pmc has a great looking black carrier atm that’s compatible with plates, shame vergys stuff doesn’t work i think it was only one with shorts strangely out of all Civ mods now
