Hello, the alpha test will take place on Sunday August 20 at 6pm CET. Don't hesitate to call your friends to test the mod together, the server will be blocked to **30 players for the moment **(test obligatory). The purpose of this test will be to check that everything's working properly, ui, script, gamemode, etc. Please send us feedback in English or French about any bugs or suggestions you may have. We'd like to point out that the money and level system is operational with the post-game save, but that it won't be used for anything (no shop for the moment) but only to balance the economy, and that money and levels will be reset for the beta and release.

Hey everyone,
it's official the live beta server will launch this friday at 4pm GMT (18h00 CEST) and will stay up 24/7

Here is our current description of the mod

King of the Hill Reforged is a three (blufor/redfor/indfor) team sector control mission. Each team must control the sector by having the majority amount of players inside it and keep control of it to reach 100 points and win the game.
Players have a saved profile between games with money, xp and levels that will unlock weapons and vehicles to buy/unlock at shops. (during beta the levels are obtained x10 faster)

__Here is a list of current features available in the mod : __

  • player profile system (level, xp, money)
  • shop system (weapons and vehicle)
  • base protection
  • limit armed vehicles to 3 per team
  • nearly ten different playable areas on 2 maps (~8 scenarios ready to play)
  • each zones has the spawns randomized between factions (meaning that a faction will not always have the same base spawn for a each scenario)
  • custom 3d model of a tower (inspired by A3, we need help finishing the texture)
  • custom factions (blufor, opfor, indfor) with custom uniforms
  • auto restart of server after endgame and randomized scenario selection at restart
  • custom UI to display team points, player profile and some notifs

What about the future ?

  • a custom map
  • support for some weapon mods like RHS
  • more 'complex' custom end game bonus (player actions in the game will matter more)
  • and more ideas to be discussed

An event is organised to populate/join the server, a little after launch, this friday at 8pm GMT (22H00 CEST)

? What do you mean, it's a thing in Arma 3 KOTH. At the end of the match, if you stayed entirely in the first person camera, you would receive extra $ and xp - to incentivize against 3rd person camera exploiting

that doesnt make much sens for me, as it is a server setting like i said (either you want pple to play first or you dont), another thing to discuss with team later i guess ^^

What's the AI only version like and is it playable on console? I want to test it out

mod is now at 0.4.0 version, here's a quicklist of the new features

Updates:

  • add first version of team balancing
  • remove change faction button when game is near ending
  • added free truck vehicles at camps
  • new end game bonus (for more detail check the koth by samatra wiki), no more free big bonus at end game, the more xp/money you get during the match the more you'll earn in end game bonus
  • add m16 to default loadout (when you spawn)
  • give more mags when buying
  • add tactical insertion bonus (when a vehicle pilot insert troops close to the AO)

Still searching for a 3D modeler to finish a few details on the towers and its textures.

Update 0.7.1

  • added first draft of priority area
    • it's a zone inside the main zone where you get double xp/money and presence (1 in prio area = 2 in main area)
    • this prio zone will move randomly in the main zone and at random intervals between 5 to 10minutes
    • know that there is a delay between getting inside the zone and actually getting the bonuses, i know and still working on it

Big new update that introduce shared player progression on official servers.

0.7.1 -> 0.8.1:

  • cross server profiles are now synced on official servers (shared database)
  • fixed wrong sync restart/timer on end game screen
  • xp/money per kill/in zone ticks upped
  • xp needed to lvlup back to normal (it was x10)
  • fixed some spawns on various maps
  • added weapons to the shop (m110, barret, mcx 300blk, svt, Ak 105 ..)
  • added optics to the shop
  • and other various fixes in gamemode

non official servers must NOT do the update from this point because the profile saving will not work
