Tarawa-class well deck. I thought it's obvious it's not the Adelaide, but actually 6 months ago when I hadn't spent hours trying to decode dinghy photos of well decks I wouldn't have been able to ID it.
Can I ask a question wether it’s stupid or not will the big ship be able to move or will it always be a prop like the adelaide
Now I’ve thought of it it kinda makes sense to stay as a prop
The question kind of reduces it a bit as the reality is a bit more complex; it's hundreds of props as the details is at least 10x higher than the Adelaide

The only reason the adalaid isn't a moving vehicle is because the game does not have proper linking. If it moved, everyone on it not snapped in place would die.
Same with all vehicles at the moment.

The ship is actually still in reserve, but was in active duty before digital cameras were really a thing; so it's actually much easier to find photo for newer much more classified vessels. Got the basic dimensions from some Marine corp study.
Love to see what the Tarawa on the game looks like on the outside but I guess I’ll haft to wait for the release
Outside model is from Hum3D, with some corrections to obivously wrong features they took from photos of toys when making it.
Thinking about LCAC I had a wild idea. LCAC has 6 axis control like a helicopter than can only get an inch off the ground, so possibly the Helicopter simulation in the game could be forced into making a convicing control scheme for LCAC... but I'm kind of busy to investigate such a wild goose chase idea for now.
When the Tawara comes out will we be able to place in GM?
GM can place it, also control day+night lights, alarms and vehicle elevators +doors on each deck.

It isn't. It's standard Turbosquid license. Even if it were editorial, that would not preclude you using it for a mod; in the terms of editorial license The burden and risk of confirming these rights is on you. Do you really think you are going to get sued by Uralvagonzavod or General Dynamics? They would choose your mod to be the first time to sue someone for putting a tank in a video game?

I have wanted to model more of the interior for my ships but have not had the 3d skills to really do so
One easy thing that makes as much difference as the model is lighting; e.g. red indoor lighting is super atmospheric, and the portals set up for exterior illumination.
Probably only needs to model the hangar, wetbay and bridge anything the players and ai would use for a mission
