Same reason the A2 Blackhawk model didn't stick around long. We mostly just use the free A2 stuff to test and learn. Then upgrade when we know things work and it's worthwhile.

that preview scene could benefit from some default HDRI or something because it always makes the reflections kinda flat
I think the light is too bright in preview as well. Washing out the interior.
Certain A2 models are better than others.

It also wasn't a perfect merge of Body and View lods. So driver and commander positions are going to be a bit, lacking. Driving in 3rd person or turned out only, and commander will either be turned out or in optic mode.

It was a long process. Actually had a "working" prototype a few months ago, but were struggling to get the NMO to also animate. So it got shelved so we could all focus on other things like striders crazy rush of vehicles, and the Hind/LittleBird. Then the two of them figured out animating the NMO, but then it was a struggle matching texture animation with wheels. I know your code from the other night was the inspiration for some stuff Ralian and Strider did yesterday. The Rotating more like a tracked vehicle.

I think there was a couple non better ways at first. First iteration of moving textures was Jan 4th, but however Zelik was doing it there was no way to animate the NMO. 🤷 I was more focused on other things at the time.

For a proper T-90 3d model or a proper M1A2 3d model, youre looking at a combined total of nearly 1,000$
a lot of features for a fully functional tracked vehicle are not present in the engine
some of them can be scripted in like animated tracks

so yeah, the question usually isnt "hey is it possible" but rather "is there anyone in the community that wants to spend time (and possibly money) making one"

the $300 one was nice but looked very dated, at least on the interior
it also depends on how deep you want to go, if you wanted to you could make one with an asset without interior and just ignore interior for now

Is this mod going to be released without the ATGM functionality until it can be figured out? That way it’s at least getting out there with more functionality down the line as it’s figured out?

there is no track simulation in the game, the BMP is a wheeled vehicle with a moving texture on the tracks

I don't know if you can create splines at runtime but could assign a "road material" to them and just keep adding points as the vehicle moves, but that would get inefficient really quickly

Early BMP-3 doesn't have ATGM launchers. Closest thing are wire guided Bastion shells fired from the main cannon

Hopefully tomorrow I get it driving and shooting. It's operating off a copy of the BMP, so it's not very close to done, but it's making progress each day. Got a lot done today.

Current Bradley with old A2 model runs and drives in game. Turret rotates, 30mm fires, it can run into things. I held off finishing till this thing arrived. Strider and I commisioned a new model with an artist we have worked with before. I think the result is pretty damned nice. I'm currently doing the project setup in Blender, merging meshes, assigning vertex groups, creating geometry, creating armature. Strider is going to do his material magic in substance to get a more proper look. Looks good right now, but it's missing that grunge/used look only a proper material workup will have. Then we will get things working in engine.
Honestly, didn't have much to post while we waited on this to get done. Took the artist about a month. And I generally just ignore requests for updates.
This model is more inline with what Reforger vanilla has. In the 200k range. All things that should open will open, all things that rotate will rotate.

For all you worried, I am back to getting work done on this. It's in engine with the new model, new armature, new colliders, new materials.
- Armature is half done.
- Materials will probably get a rework some time in the future, but until then you will have to deal with this ugly bright puke interior.
- I'll work on getting the new tracks working this week and recreating the compartments. Will take some time, I'm gone this coming weekend, but I'll get done what I can.

I'm not going to speculate on that. Wire guided hasn't even been started yet. Its much more difficult than the current lazer/gps guided Adam and Ralian have been working on. I'll let them decide what is worthwhile to focus on. The group also has a bunch of unfinished projects we are all trying to wrap up before starting anything else, so will just have to wait and see.

Hoping to have the camera for the TOW, and then utilize cameras for the viewports so you can see out of the interior in first person.
No guarantees that will be performant enough to work, but will hopefully know before this weekend.
This thing looks like it would be a BEAST in modded conflict
Once the tows work it should be able to at least defend itself in most circumstances, although it should be used in its intended role as infantry support It can take on the lighter skinned vehicles like the btr and bmp.

with a screen this small you could easily use 50% resolution scale and refresh every second frame and it'll be twice as efficient as sniper optics
I believe I tested something like 12 screens with 30% resolution scale and refresh every 2nd frame and my fps dropped by 1 when looking at them (I imagine if my PC drops by 1 then maybe the xbox series s would drop by like 5)
also since you control this camera it would probably be relatively trivial to add zoom with a couple different FOV settings

River made the first thermals but it didn’t take long for BI to break it.
The way river did them was inherently broken and caused issues in and of itself

No, the bradley could actually be released today if I wanted to, but it would just be a shell of what it was planned to be. Still hoping for a fix for cameras and missile implementation.

There is a limit to the amount of cameras and RTtextures we can have in the world. I can spawn in three bradleys right now and the commanders targeting system works with movable camera, but add in a fourth and it breaks.
It's something BI is looking into.

It just doesn't work. RTtexture becomes transparent and doesn't display anything.

TOWS. Although, according to ralian and adam manually guided would be a bit trickier than radar or laser guided. Those are the first planned missiles. Then manually controlled. So who knows the timeline.
