Changelog:

  • all reddots/holographic sights are now collimated
  • removed dependency to Switchable Optics

  • moved mounting point to comply with different mods (like RHS, thanks @gleaming prism for point that to me)

so I'm having trouble with the mod. more or less when you zoom in, you cant move at all. after you zoom out you can move again.

An issue I’ve been having is when I put any of the magnifier sights on an m4 from bacons “M4a1 Block II and URG-1” mod. After toggling the magnifier it causes my character pov to go all over the place when aiming resulting in my characters body being all twisted up and having to move right to go forward and up and down to go side to side. I’m on Xbox if helps.

hey @plucky dagger I'm admin and I play on server ita "operazioni arma Italia".I did tests on your optics, some have a perfect reticle for long distance shots, the reticle notches correspond to the distance, other optics are not right. can you fix?

@plucky dagger these are screenshots I took during the test (sorry if the annotations are written in Italian, they are screenshots to help our server guys) As you can see the reticles of Specter, Leopold and LPVO are not usable
The green optics are correct, with the default weapon settings the bullet runs and falls the corresponding distance indicated in the reticle. In red scopes the reticle does not match the travel and bullet drop at those ranges

While we are at it. I believe the Carl Gustav optic is off zero. Been a few weeks since I’ve tested it.

@gleaming prism As you can see (I added the blur to resize the file too big for discord... But in game it would be cool) the render distance on seriesX is 800mt

However, at this distance leaving the weapon at default distance the shot lands roughly where the red arrow is If, on the other hand, you set the weapon at 800m the shot DOES NOT hit the center of the reticle But I can't express myself with certainty on this last point because there is the problem that the weapon oscillates a lot... Even when lying down and activating the bipod there is always oscillation In this situation it should be firmly on the ground without movement... If you can fix this then we can evaluate ballistics and optics 😉

@plucky dagger @gleaming prism do you think it is possible to create a 14x tactical scope for the barrett like this real one? with integrated rangefinder where you can read the distance to the target.
In the Russian RHS mod there are rangefinder binoculars that write the distance on the screen... Maybe using the same method..... 🤞)

@plucky dagger seems with your SPARC RED-DOT with & with-out 33X it sits on all guns off center. There’s also a reflection in the sight that can be very over powering most the time blocking your view. This “reflection” also happens at night even in very dark buildings

obviously for the game I think you don't need all the functions... having the display locked on the rangefinder function is already enough (if it doesn't bug Xbox 😭)

Specter 1-4x
My all-time favorite in terms of aesthetics and functionality (even if the reticle notches are not calibrated) because has the right speed movement when you aim 1x or 4x
Can I get some feedback from the author about this?
Magnification 1x: there is lenticular effect (both 1x and 4x but 1x more noticeable) which actually zooms out a bit...It can be seen by looking at the contours of the warehouse in the photo for example... It's very nice but this image processing with lenticular effect that bends the image doesn't impact the fps? is it possible to at least correct the magnification and have effective 1 to 1 zoom?
Second thing... Couldn't this artificial reflection of the trees be eliminated? (Short video)
I think without these two visual effects the FPS improves a lot when aiming

p.s.I forgot a question is it difficult to enable the point of view from the small metal upper sight (While maintaining movement speed and rotation as 1x view)?

Hey @plucky dagger I know you are super busy but do you think there is any way you could make some of the optics in this mod work better with night vision system mod. This is is that the night vision with the third ranger modpack makes the brightness if the holographic and other similar sights so bright that they are unfeasible to use. If you can't, or a re too busy, that's fine but it would be a great improvement to quality of life with the night ops if we could use our optics. Thank you for your work and creations

As we tried to explain in the nvg thread. If we drop the brightness of the reticle on our optics, it becomes hard to see on day engagements.

The shader on the nvg mod amplifies certain aspects of the game color range, resulting in massive bloom on optics.

We can try again to tweak them a little more but it's going to be an issue as long as the shader on the nvg is boosting the things it boosts.

It's a catch 22, we decrease our brightness to work with the nvg, harder in day shooting, he decreases the amount his nvg shader amplifies that color/emissive his nvg shader is darker overall resulting in complaints.

Honestly, if we could do a night toggle for our optics overall to disable our glow we would be able to limit the issue in my opinion.

TL:DR - It is a double edge sword, one party can't fix the issue.

I know this isn't my mod thread, but it is not just his optics pack, mine do it, Bacon's do it.

Hey @plucky dagger is there any way that you could enable the toggle illumination feature for controller in this mod. Apparently this mod prevents my server from chasing the optic brightness. Thank you!!!

level 0 would be night visibility (defined by your default emission values in the reticle material)
level 1 and level 2 are multipliers of level 0 defined in sights component

they start out at level 2 because most of the time ops happen during the day

Yeah bi said all modders need to update via the experimental before the update dropped today but not many did so it’ll be a bit before fixes come
