Since the L1A1 and L2A1 are being added, the Norinco Type 63 rifle would be a good REDFOR counterpart to these. As for LMGs, the Type 67 and ZB vz.26 would make great additions for the NVA/VC forces.

However, they're currently under the original license - which allows changes to non-SQF files, and means you can't redistribute.
This is temporary. We're just finalising which open source license to release under. In the meantime, feel free to download the mission and play around.
We'll be updating the license within the next couple of days, and it's likely to be the case that (almost?) everything is on the table.
The only real restriction for the moment is, please don't convert Mike Force to use non-DLC units/vehicles - at least until we've got the new license published.

How BIG is the update vs the full DLC now? It says I need something like 30 GB FREE just to PATCH?! Or should I uninstall and reinstall the DLC instead? I don't have 30 GB free on my ARMA SSD!
The update redownloads the whole DLC because it can't do incremental file patching due to the encryption on the files.
Total size of VN after download is around 31GB.
Steam does need extra space for download and install too

30.7 GB on the DLC folder right now before the update.
Payday 2 was always the worst for this - 200mb update and it would unpack 20gb of data and kill my ssd
FYI, I "uninstalled" the DLC from the STEAM | ARMA | PROPERTIES | DLC TAB - uncheck the DLC, let STEAM update and "delete" the DLC , freed up 30.7 GB, then check the DLC again to reinstall it. Completed. Better than to download the "update" and need ANOTHER 30 GB. In case anyone has the same issue.
not sure why but the Veteran mod seems to be incompatible with SOG:PF, the AKs from that mod aren't available when SOG:PF is loaded. any idea why this happens?

Hey I found a bug, while trawling through the editor I found a version of the new M14A1 but with painted camo, it does not appear in the loadout menu and cannot fit the bipod modification but it is there
actually quite a few weapons are not able to be found in the arsenal but can be found in the editor
such as the M14 that has the XM name

I don't think that's necessarily true, I think ČSLA has a M21 that shows up in the Arsenal with a scope attached by default
But basically what Skellaguinius pointed out is, there are several subvariants of weapons that are hidden, right? But they can be recreated in Arsenal as well, it's just about applying different attachments, correct?

They all were in the arsenal after I picked them up and went to a arsenal counted as new and different weapons rather than just nodded existing ones
Unless for whatever reason my game can't detect the M14A1 painted camo amongst other rifles
the m14a1 shouldnt have a 'camo painted' option
only camo wrap (aka some branches and foliage around the gun)
The rifles are all counted as their own individual entities with unique names
but for whatever reason they aren't in the arsenal

Absolutely, 3 new maps, countless new vehicles and weapons, new SFX and VFX, new MP based campaign and missions based off actual SOG missions, active community support from the Devs themselves and a chance to talk to and hear from actual SOG vets, 2 big updates since its release adding even more content so far.... It's worth every penny
It does not? My shot is you fly with the MELB (mh-6m, now in rhs). It is indeed way lighter than the cayuse, (but take into account that it’s prob lighter, has a new engine, 5 blades instead of 4 and so on)
maybe with the advanced flight model the oh 6 flys badly, MP makes AFM impossible anyway and all the helicopters fly like they are over loaded. (afm does not take advantage of fuel and ammo loads, only personnel)

mike force has a separate view distance controller that tries to manage it for better fps

I find all the SOG weapons reload animations to be pretty amazing... so what happened to the Type 56 Assault Rifle Reload Anim? It is the only weapon with subpar reload animation

Have you tried the weapon's reload animation? The second you hit R the magazine disappears out of thin air almost instantly. That is not the case with the other weapons...

Actually you can see the character uses magazine catch while reloading Type 56, it's very detailed

You are clearly mistaking Mods from cDLCs... for Mods it is Ok to have subpar animations and teleporting magazines because it is hard to animate properly for Arma... yes... but for Paid content you expect vanilla quality. (Of course one can argue that SOG has so much content that some subpar content can be forgiven)
Also if you really want to let them know in the backlog, submit a feedback on the tracker, they have fixed smaller issues than reloading animation from what I reported
they even fixed the ejection port bug on M1 carbine which probably no one else would cared
I just wanted to hear from one of the devs regarding that particular issue... I am not even a regular user of that weapon...

beware of alt-tabbing - as a general rule - arma 3 is unstable if alt tabbing when not playing in full-windowed or windowed mode. that causes 90% of crashes from new owners

play in borderless window or always hit esc before alt tabbing or dont alt tab out

Re the ctrl right click - line up on your target at between 300 and 2000m alt and a speed of 350-500 km/h
Watch the little cross approach your target and pickle your bomb as the cross passes onto it
Ctrl right click again to go back to plane control and watch behind you and see your impact

great advice, set your grenade throw bind to 2xG instead of 1xG as standard
so you gotta double click G (thus, 'confirming' your intentions) to throw it
that way you'll stop fragging by accident

In my unit mods we have a component that nags you with a popup about rebinding it upon missions start 😄
You can click "ok, rebind" which opens rebinding screen or something like "I do not want to rebind and in case I kill my squad I will face consequences" (choice saved in profile)

Okay so its cool that VC spawns when you're trying to get wrecks in Mike Force... but having to fight 4 people every 10 seconds while getting a wreck is starting to get old
Like this gotta be a bug dude im fighting more VC than the AOs even spawn in
