Who is hosting the server anyway? You or your Russian friends? That person needs to open the ports for the arma server in their router. (2302-2306 UDP) And have that point to the internal network/LAN IPv4 address of the computer running the server. (can be in the ranges: 192.168.x.y/172.16-31.x.y/10.x.y.z) The people loggin on to the server need to connect to the (external) IPv4 address, which the hoster sees when visiting whatsmyip.net in a browser.

Ok, nevermind, found a link about Steam with an error code 2 regarding Sniper Elite 3. Was to do with folder/file access rights. But that place should be no problem for your user to access with any application

Im playing arma on 40-50 fps but every 5-6mins fps falls to 5 fps for 40-50 seconds

Well, @fringe salmon can have a look at Taskmanager and see which application is regularly popping up in the top CPU load precentages.

Wether or not you can prevent the lag is another story. Might be necessary tasks the OS does.

alright I have no idea if anyone can help but i'm at the end of my rope

so I recently got a new pc and installed arma on it and i configured the settings to my pc's resolution, graphics, ect; instead of the default arma pre-set. I left it at that and exited. but I booted it up and tried to play single player campaign and as soon as I clicked the button for campaign, arma froze and presumably crashed (It just froze and i couldn't even stop the app from task manager). I looked for everywhere for my exact situation and tried all the troubleshooting solutions i.e: verify integrity of files, uninstall and reinstall arma, and restarted my pc as well. it also does the same thing if i try to change profiles as well. other than that I can start it up fine and go on my setting. sorry if this is too much but I'm desperate.

Graphic settings shouldn't crash your game, although the default settings (auto-detect) are the best. Unless you mess with the memory allocator, that can mess up stuff...

The game may runs bad when there's unoptimized things, eg MODs, Missions, Scripts, Servers, etc

Don't use minimum settings, that only makes things worse. Use Autodetect. Also, 40 FPS is pretty good for Arma.

Keep getting addons/jets/functions_f_destroyer.pbo verify failed when trying to connect to warlords 2.00 servers on RC can anyone else verify if they have this issue? I have tried verifying local files and deleting the pbo and associated bisign and re-verifying. And still cant connect

i had a problem where when i load into a map (altis) it would be stuck loading the textures so the ground would be white or textures unloaded then immediately crash. i switched from profiling beta to normal beta, fiddled with parameters and reset them to default, turned all my mods on and off, verified the game files, updated my drivers, updates directx12 but it’s still not working and the error i’m getting is the most generic one

Is there any way to make the AI less retarded? There was literally a soldier looking at another and they just stared intently at each other, they both had ammo, they started shooting at other targets even. Any help to make them more smart would be much appreciated

@mystic pilot well I wouldn't go that far, they still like to completely ignore waypoints once they have made enemy contact. And once that happens, like half of them will be bugged and even once the enemies are dead and I manually set them to safe, they still won't listen to any waypoints.

go to launcher parameters and tick no pause, or on the steam 'set launch options' for arma just type in -nopause

Mission may have a DLC restriction, regardless the terrain is a part of an Expansion or not. eg. You can't launch DLC showcase missions if you don't own, even if is in Altis

I've added my main account as contributor too, but as a contributor you can't change visibility it seems :(

Do you need steam guard enabled? This account is used for steamCMD automation and steam guard just ruins any automated steamCMD stuff over long periods of time

Yup that did it! Enabled steam guard, now I have the option to change its visibility. Going to try to disable steam guard again and then see if it remains public

Then look for
Infantry
Mechanized
Motorized
Armor.
(Theres one more i cant remember i think)
If those groups arnt there by default you have to use orbat creator or make your own config patch

Go to your documents folder, look out for the Arma 3 folder. Make a backup of all content (profiles). Then empty that folder and try to launch the game from the steam folder again

go to the launcher, exit out of the game and just click on the CBA mod in your mods section, just press repair i believe it says at the bottom right of the screen

Whenever you get those missing whatever errors, press close and if it lets you push through it’s just some random file that isn’t needed or some shit, if it doesn’t let you into the server then close the game, and load the mods that the server is running because it means you are missing one or more

Hi, Team;

I am having an issue with OBS 26.0.2 (most recent update) that is stopping me from streaming ArmA 3 or recording, both as a Fullscreen app capture, and also Display Capture.

The anti-cheat compatibility hook within OBS is slamming against Battleeye I think and not allowing any capture;

Has anyone else experienced this? If so have you found a fix?

Each time I have attempted to log in to a specific server this evening, I get an error message roughly 2 minutes after connecting to the server, and I am then kicked off. The error message lists a different problem every time

#

The problem is invariably a wrong signature issue according to the message, sometimes with mods and addons but it also shows up in base arma files.

#

I've messed around with the launch options, verified the files countless times, restarted steam and my computer multiple times, and reinstalled every file that has been listed as having a wrong signature.

#

I have played on the server for 237 hours with no issue whatsoever until now.

I've got a bit of an issue, Arma 3 is installed in my D Drive but steam isn't recognising that and thinks it's uninstalled, because of this it isn't updating and it now has a bad version meaning I can't play multiplayer. Know what's happening?

I had the issue where it would trigger when I was 10.5/12 GB RAM,
I reduced pagefile from something like 12 or 16 GB to (Windows recommended) 2.5GB
still crashed
I removed pagefile entirely - crash @ 7/12 GB RAM 😬 indeed. I will give another try to the page file

@cerulean cloak @alpine horizon When starting a server, dedicated on hosted multiplayer in the game you need to open ports on your router and server firewall to allow incoming packets to get to the server. Some have luck with just enabling UPnP. I swear by just opening the ports in my router through it's configuration page. Open incoming ports 2302-2306 UDP to the IP of your server-computer. And on a dedicated server (different computer) make sure the same is done in it's firewall. The trouble is that each router manufacturer has it's own way of forcing how to do that through their user interface. And Windows firewall has it's own peculiarities, like not passing traffic when setting up a rule with both limited ports and for a specific application (the server executable). When those pitfalls are solved port forward works 9 times out of 10. The 1 of 10 are people that have a router connection from their ISP that does not support a true IPv4 stack. (Dual Stack Lite) It piggybacks IPv4 traffic over the more modern IPv6, and Arma (3) cannot work with IPV6 addressing at all. Consult your internet service provider to ask if this is the case.

So I was the one who tried to host the server because of that issue but honestly, we have no clue if he needs to be able to forward the ports in able to join someone elses game.

Only the one hosting the server needs to open the ports for incomming connections. By default outgoing connections, from your friend's computer, to his router, through the internet to you, is not blocked. But by default, your router will block it. As I said, UPnP on your side doesn't allways work.

Settings are already on autodetect except for view distance. Adjusting any ingame settings serves to only worsen the issue. It's not present on any footage I've seen of the game, so I'm not sure what's up.

Ah dw, I've learned long ago that nvidia settings hurt more than they help, especially with older games. Performance is not really an issue, I'm getting 120fps+ in cluttered environments

@fringe salmon you can reset settings in nvidia control panel or you can reinstall the driver and check the "clean install" option, or whatever it's named. If it's actual errors (that white snow bug) it's probably some transparency stuff or might go away without ATOC, but haven't seen that bug for a long time and not on nvidia cards

if it's just settings maybe it's the transparency grid you sometimes can see clearly when using ATOC, try disabling that. maybe oversharpening has that effect, don't turn that up or try sherpening on off. and with that 1080ti on just 1080p you should try 200% resolution, instead of MSAA and see if that looks better to you. just add SMAA or maybe 2xAA+ATOC if you want the more fluffy trees and don't mind the grid

Yes, Optionen/Farben/Pulldown list where you have "Im spiel", make that menu, or however it is called in German. You can customize it or select some presets for the user interface.

If you're AFK long enough to have your PC go in sleep-mode, you should leave the game anyway (especially in a MP environment).
But the solutions that know:

run the game in Fullscreen mode (not windowed)
disable sleep mode / increase time before sleep mode

My PC is set to turn off screen after 10min and go to sleep-mode after 30min
and I never had the problem of getting it to sleep when in-game (even when I need to do something shortly)

once your PC goes to sleep, all audio input and output sources get disconnected, and arma just doesn't like changes to audio on the fly. it always results in audio loss. nothing that can be done other than not putting your PC to sleep while game is running. simple as that

The artillery Laser Guided shells, when fired by players or by any commands such as fire and fireAtTarget, are broken - they do not home in on laser targets. They seem to work only when used with the support module (which itself is broken half the time on a dedicated server) or using doArtilleryFire.

This makes any kind of MP coop with LG Arty impossible, as well as custom firing scripts. Thoughts? What fire command should I use in my custom scripts?

Hey @quasi tundra check if you disabled the windows key somewhere in windows settings. I had done that before, thinking it would stop the windows menu from opening but instead it bricked the key altogether. Re-enabling it allowed me to open ace interaction again.

There are no magic ways to boost fps and performance depends on other hardware too and not just on your gpu. Also singleplayer and multiplayer fps are different.

Auto detecting video settings is a good starting point and then perhaps you can try lowering view distance.

@pine kite I have like 41 mods loaded for my unit's ops

it was just flying at one point

like I said - it does it at random times during gametime with no particular causation

Well, divide and conquer. Take halve, see if it happens again. If not, load the other, see if it happens again. Take the halve that the crash happened in, and divide that in two again. Repeat.

If there is no issue with no mods, the cause lies in the mods you're using. Then take Vales's advice and berak it down into halves or thirds to see which mod is causing the problem.

Before you reinstall modes, reverify or repair them.

I'm currently stress testing my PC on arma in singleplayer and it's running fine and dandy on stratis with some hefty explosions going on

I have mission module which disable Global channel on Init.
On briefing I have it disabled. But after mission start it is enabled again. I feel previously it was disabled all the way till mission ends.

disabled channels were reenabled on jip but that was fixed so maybe something is not right with that fix, can I have a repro, if confirmed will be hotfixed. Have you got a ticket?

try to check game file integrity in steam.
try to remove file and check game file integrity in steam again.
search for duplicates of this file in game folder. Remove and check integrity.

The error doesn't mean you have to search into bin folder in your Arma 3 install folder. Don't think about it if you don't have a clue about it, just remove the broken MOD, I don't know what it was though
