Just did all the go-kart time trials on gold and it actually took a little bit of time to do so as the night time one is hard and after all that work I get no achievment wtf?

I am having a strange issue, while driving a tank. Once I switch to gunner or pick it as my Player class, when I switch to main Cannon I can't change the ammunition type when normally I should be Able to switch to heat or he by using the Mouse wheel down. Now I can only see "Move to commander/ driver seat", turn out, eject, get out options but nothing that would allow me to change the Shell type. What can cause this? I use only rhs mods, Ace and maps. IT is even happening on vanilla. The thing is that I did not bind this action to any key. even on new profile switching shell type doesn't appear. Where can I find it in options? Maybe it will help me when I know where to look. It was working fine when I was uninstalling ArmA some time ago and started happening after reinstall. Perhaps new update messed up something? It is annoying since an event for my clan is closing in and I'm a gunner :/

My guess from googling is since ace is realism, maybe you cant change ammo type while a shells loaded? No idea tbh
try shooting a shot and see if you can change shell
Unlikely to be ace otherwise there would be a lot of complaints about it, as for the error have you tried a new profile/ reinstall. Double check the key binds

Plus that link is real life, not Arma 3. The only vehicle that requires the "chamber" to be empty is some of the russian vics from rhs

I have never messed around with the controls i am afraid, so i have no clue in that regard.
Tried without ACE and any other mods, simply switched to vanilla and it is still happening. Verified files integridy and here we go again. I don't know if there is a key binding for this in options. I switched to different control presets, from ARmA3 to ArmA3 apex and still nothing. Now I am afraid that I might have to do a reinstal but it souds stupid because the game runs perfect and everything beside this issue runs well too

Just discovered a funny thing. Once I used all available shells for an basic ammo type loaded with a spawned tank (checked it with RHS unit because of the low ammo capacity) the options "reload HE/HEAT" suddenly appeared but once I loaded one of those 2 ammo types I again had no chance to change it whenever I want because the options disappeared from the action list., therefore I think it is no use for me to reinstall the game since there is something in the mechanics. Sorry for posting this all the time but I just find it so annyoing especially when I am a gunner for the upcoming tank event for my clan and in case of bigger infantry groups, using SABOT vs inantry sounds just stupid and not always there will be an opportunity to use a MG

Could be a Steam API issue (which is not rare), or a bug in the activation.

You could try to create a new profile (in case you still have an old one) and see if anything unlocks. Since there might be some (still) broken.

I have a question about TFR, and since I can’t find info anywhere else I ask here. When in game, I will randomly switch out of the TFR channel, sometimes it crashes my game. Then I switch back to the TFR channel and game goes to 30-60 frames running fine, then 5 or less minutes later it does it again. It makes the game almost unplayable in multiplayer. Anyone know how to fix it? Every milsim requires task force radio and I can barely play.

If so, thats not TFAR's fault. It switches you out because the game froze, not the other way around.
TFAR is not freezing your game, the game freezing is causing issues with TFAR.

So I'm having an issue with port forwarding a server, Where i would get the error that it didn't work, I use at&t (Yes bully me all you want) and I have no idea what I'm doing

2: does your ISP provide you with real IPv4 (required) and not DSlite IPv4?

real IPv4 (your internet IP adress looks like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) means all your data is transmitted over IPv4 from your router to your ISP / datacenter. DSlite IPv4 means, that your IPv4 connections are tunneled in a IPv6 lane from your router to your ISP / datacenter. the last does not work with arma server aplications.

Whatever mods you had running when you built the mission are what need to be running on the server as well.

Server is missing mods, just look at the log, it says what mods are missing

hello everyone, im having a problem with my mission on my dedicated server. the mission works fine in the editor, i exported it to mp then copied the pbo to the server missions file. when i try to launch the mission there are no units to select to play as. thoughts?
Hello and good day to you all, I am currently experiencing a problem when launching my server bat file, it launches correctly HOWEVER upnp only works on the first run, when I close it and restart it it will fail everytime. I have of course made sure my Router allows UPNP and have double checked the firewall settings to make sure nothing is being blocked, I do not know why this keeps happening, please can anyone advise?

hey everyone, so with some try and error ive found then whenever i place an mcc module in the mission and the try and play said mission none of the slots for people to play as show up, thoughts?
had a friend that recently had an audo issue like that, worked in some games but not others. Few months back he installed windows 10 fresh. Never manually installed chipset drivers, complained about positional audio in games that did work. Simply installing his chip set drivers and audio drivers fixed his issue.
I have an issue with the mission eventhandler handleDisconnect, when i ask the side of the disconnected unit (side _unit) it returns civilian even though the unit unit is a west unit. For all other factions it works just well

if i give the player object from one player to the hc, the side command becomes unreliable
But if i only give the player id to the hc and then get the unit object from the playableUnits array on the hc, the side command works just fine

Hi all. I've been having issues activating my laser. I can see everyone else's lasers fine, but mine won't work. I even get the pop-up in the top right, so I know my binding is correct. Any ideas? Would hate to have to resintall if I don't need to. Also, yes, this does happen on all weapon platforms and all laser sights.

If you launch Arma via steam, first thing it should do is install directx. Steam does that for you

When installed with key in the proper folder, causes every mod on my server to show up as mismatch, I reinstalled the mod+key and it still has the same error, Can anyone provide some good troubleshooting steps? Ive also installed a different mod and got it to work properly (without the hornet mod loaded), so Is it possible something is wrong with the mod itself?

Ive also noticed when installing the normal version, the launcher shows the beta being required by server, and in the mods I need to unload the one I want to use wants to unload even though ive installed the stable version from workshop

exthreads one is syntax error, maxMem is BAD!, cpuCount is bad and set twice, exThreads is bad and twice, enableHT is bad, nologs is twice

The server cannot transmit all data. The launcher doesn't get all data. The launcher doesn't even know what signatures your server has, so it cannot even check if a signature matches or doesn't
There is a limit of how much data the Arma server can transmit to the launcher.
If you have too much data, and it doesn't fit, some of the data is cut off, and the launcher tells you about it.
That will get fixed in next Arma update, has been a problem for years

So- I've got a strange bug going on with the server a community I'm in plays on
Essentially, when someone joins the server, they load in, they get the standard "error no bin config" dialogue box we're all used to by now
everyone that is currently loaded into the server resets their stance to standing
Even if you're in a pilot slot- Now you're standing in the cockpit, head poking out
We're dismantling any changes we've made since we started experiencing this and are kinda just firing wildly at this point

so Hi guys i got a little question. I have a problem with my server i cant run any custom mission on my server not on Altis or on any custom map i just installed the mods and just put the parameters on the server but if my unit members spawn they spawn in the water and if they die they change into an ace spectator on the ground but they are not able to select a spawn point or anything else. i tried respawn on position but it doesnt work either so i´m asking you guys for help. Let me start with: I know mods are definitely the source of the error, as it's 100% reproducible with and the error references a mod file that cannot be found. The file is definitely found in the path listed, however.
Error: CTD immediately on trying to start a local MP server with missions that include the mod/file. Not reproducible in Editor. I.e. Starting a multiplayer server through the 3den editor functions correctly 100% of the time. Starting through the Multiplayer --> Host CTD immediately. steam keeps saying missing downloaded files when i try to install workshop content
i reinstalled the entire goddamn game, even installed it on a different hard drvie. And it still doesnt work

Need help with mission cycle
I had a cycle of 4 missions that automatically cycle when game ends or #restart is used
Now the cycle is broken and im not sure what I can do to fix it, ive tried resetting the config with tadst
They cycle only loads the first mission in the cycle but not the others when #restart is used
I have done #missions and im capable of loading the missions individually, but Its imperative to have it work in conjunction with #restart

I have modded out mission that I have for my milsim group. Last time I went on before this I believe was before old man. I went on yesterday, and the role select screen would not load all the role options, player list, words, and other stuff. I went on eden to check out what was wrong and it gave me a box that said some addons are not installed. So I loaded all of my mods instead of my preset ones and it fixed all warnings but one, "warfxpe_den". (My stupid @ss didn't backup my mission so I'm f*cked if I cant figure this out). Anybody know what's going on?
Arma crashes all of a sudden every time I play. No other game crashes. CPU and GPU temperatures checked and neither one is exceeding 60 degrees. Other applications continue to run like normal in the background. RAM checked and all sticks are fine. What next?

Hello there, i am hosting a dedicated server with some mods, everything is fine and we have alot of users playing fine. However my friend who is new to arma and has just downloaded the game, all mods and everything is setup correctly (i checked multiple times now), cannot connect. He is always stuck in:
11:25:06 > Philipp uses modified data file
and has an empty screen. We have waited multiple hours in this screen before and nothing changes. Mods are all correctly downloaded, game shows no errors. RPTs are fine, no obvious erros which could be connected to his problem (both server rpt and client).
At this point I have no more ideas where it may come from. I had guessed it might be battleye causing the error, but after having it reinstalled multiple times, no changes
We are trying our best to solve it for 2 weeks now. If anyone has any idea, please share it.

Even making sure he/she isn't on a managed/strict (firewalled i.e.) network could be factors 🙂
i.e. some apartment buildings without private modems may have shared connections which may be strictly managed, on campus might be an example for that 🙂
Id rather want to expect the user to be unable to connect at-all in that example, but since you've already verified/reinstalled i want to assume the install itself should be okay.

the mission isnt using any mods it a vanilla mission it tosses them with both Optre, and a mod im not aloud to bring up for bc of the ip
you may need to ask the authors if anyone else has had problems
start testing without mods and then test each mod separately
could be you have put together a mod set that just doesnt work together

its not a download files error in screen for me, upon joining with the client it complains it has ACE_medical_gui loaded which the server claims it does not have. inspecting the server the size for the ace workshop folder and amount of files differed, so i'd decided to force re-download ACE although it appears to not have resolved that problem.
oddly enough ACE is 6 megs smaller on the server side, i'd expect them to be at least near-similar.

So my friend just bought arma 3 and he has some issues running it. His game crashes after a few minutes of playing or entering a helicopter. He updated his drivers, verified integrity of game files and even reinstalled the game it but nothing worked, we checked all over the forums and tried other things suggested by people... He has a new PC capable of running arma. At start he was getting this error "arma 3 error 0xc0000005" but he fixed it by updating the graphics drivers, now the game just freezes and shuts down without an error. What else could we try? Thank you in advance

the wireless transmiter is plugged into usb, so should he try running the game without the headphones?
Would be a good thing to try for testing. If it makes a difference i'd dare suggest to double check there's no updates for the headset available and perhaps trying to disable Windows10's Usb PowerManagement.
I needed to do the latter for myself to prevent some programs from crashing when my old headset is empty or otherwise gets disconnected.

Hello guys. I'm playing in a server but I keep getting an error which makes my screen freez, then go black and force quitting on itself. CUP terrains core might be the cause of this but I'm not 100% sure ofcourse..
I do not get this on other servers like KOTH or other exile servers with similar mods.

Hello, whenever I use thermals, regardless of if they're in goggles, vehicle sights, or a scope, all I get is a black screen. This only started happening after I installed some mods (notably ace3 and RHS suite). Disabling the mods does not fix this, nor does uninstalling them. I have verified my game cache on steam and nothing was missing.
One of my friends has installed the same exact mods as I did and he's having no issues.
I believe this is an issue to do with running Arma 3 on Linux, but it's confusing that the issue wasn't present while playing the Apex campaign unmodded.

As a note, I am not using the official Linux port as it is out of date. I am using the latest release and running the game though valve's proton.

i have some strange performance impact for a scenario where i added cup stuff afterwards. is there any log or console output to see what is calculating so much? maybe its the ai mods, but in combination with cup.
@last palm some of the logs are in your %appdata%/../Local/Arma 3 folder (youre looking for .rpt files then) if anything's thrown an error.

so if i understand correctly you've cleared your workshop files and the workshop downloadcache before letting them download again? Then that sounds normal to me and in my case helped resolve some issues.
If it's a specific mod failing you can delete the specific folder and cache for it by looking up the workshop id of the mod, which can save you downloading the others
If you really need to re-download the mods i believe you need to go to Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/107410 too, that's where the downloads of arma's workshop folders are kept.
It sounds like one or more mods signature files are making the launcher believe something's wrong in those folders, if i understand correctly.
@last palm you can flip to profiling build, and use diag_captureFrame. It'll tell you exactly whats taking so long

Just a quick one with 3CB, I have selected to not load with default kits and what I have made in 3den however it always defaults back. Any advice would be very very helpful

@fringe salmon I don't use 3CB myself but had a run-in with ACE yesterday where it ws overriding my kits, if you're using ACE you might want to check if that's happening to you 🙂 i had to change my loadout in 3den for that in the ACE loadout-thingie.
It's a known 3CB "feature"

That's why I'm stumped
When editing missions i try to make sure to start the scenario fresh when making changes to loadouts or basically anything that doesnt run through a seperate script. Sometimes if the scenario was resumed from a save it could throw things off for me. If a change doesnt seem to have propagated i sometimes even restart the whole game just to be sure something still in-memory might be screwing me over.

I don't know about ACE so I've no idea about it but you have to make sure those MODs are doing your problem or not

i have my own stripped down version of ace, i have removed repair refuel and rearm, also norearm (and lots other stuff like googles and medical stuff). i use RHS, i have ace @ace3_3.13.2, installed manually. also the latest RHS ace compatiblity over steamwork shop(from acemod's Workshop) cause i don't need to modify it. all of it seems to be updated at 22.04.2020. if i configure heli pylons in editor, the weapons don't have ammo, also i can't refill them ingame at the ammo trucks. cmburst and mg's get refilled, rest won't.
so you have an issue with something you broke yourself from a mod, and now ask in Arma discord on how to fix it...
well that don't need to be wrong. maybe you can give some constructive critic how to behave in a troubleshooting channel.
If you don't use the latest versions or worse modified versions of mods then you can expect stuff to be broken...
But I also know that not all vehicle mods are compatible with Pylons, or have their own system in place

sounds like your edit of ace is broken (you no you can just disable all that stuff via CBA settings you dont have to edit the mod). or you have some jank mod that messes with rearm. both tetets f18 and firewills jets still work via eden pylon attributes, they just have there own system for changing pylon weapons in-game.

Hey, can someone help me out? Currently, I play on a server using modern vehicles, including the A-10A and A-10C. However, when using these vehicles I do not have radar of any kind, and AGMs do not have the ability to lock on. I think it might be a mod conflict, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how.
Any help is appreciated.

Got a fun problem. Trying a new server from another GSP. I go into the mission and after about 10 or so seconds after loading in, I get a Connection to Server Host Lost. I had other people try it and they too get disconnected at the same time.
Been chattin to their Chief Operating Officer of the company all day, and we ran tests, tried reconfiguring things, even talked to the local data center, all is clean.
@quaint cargo its a steam issue, they've released an update on steam beta to remedy it
Hey. In my mission, i removed all weapons for players at the beginning. But for some reason, when you spawn in, you have a weapon again.
@fierce snow might wanna double check if there's a script in the scenario that handles the player respawns, in some cases it's simply called "onPlayerRespawn".
i added the respawn module and set the multiplayer settings to make the respawn work

Has anyone ever figured out a way to keep aircraft throttle from going up while in map? I've been playing this for years, it always bothers me, but never found a solution 😆

Advanced Flight Model in helicopters (with a joystick) doesn't seem to get the throttle issue.
Could be wrong, but I haven't noticed it.
And no, throttle goes up or down for me.
Usually down, but sometimes up 😆 particularly annoying if I'm trying to line up a landing/approach.

Can confirm the only thing I have set for throttle is my throttle.
AFM has a fixed throtlle, vanilla requires you to hold the throttle (like with cars where you have to hold the W button to drive)
but again... depends on keybinds
The "M" key is not bound to anything but my map.
When I hit it, throttle immediately drops off in fixed wing.

@gritty crypt It's a hard coded engine autopilot feature that was added with jets DLC, it's really stupid, it happens whenever you open a UI that enables mouse control.
Obviously when your in the map you can't see what's happening, but if your using ACE for example and you press the self-interaction key you can watch your throttle % changes a bunch and then stabilise, same with your pitch and roll.
People complained about it from the first week the DLC was released but it was never removed unfortunately. I would love to here the design teams reasoning/justification for it.

I it correct that mods are not fully loaded on a server (or client) until a mission has started?
Eg. if I add #include "\x\cba\addons\main\script_macros_mission.hpp" to a missions description.ext it will crash the server (or client when trying to host a server), even though CBA is loaded correctly.
I've seen several tickets in the tracker with similar issues, and also on the CBA Github it has been mentioned but flagged as "won't fix / BI needs to fix this"
I'm playing the East Wind campaign and I'm at the part of the campaign where ||we expect an invasion from NATO in Topolia|| however I can't progress to that mission as I'm not given any of the required gear and as such can't even join the next mission. Any help?
The main reason for this is that something hasn't been triggered. Re-read the briefing and ensure that you've followed it exactly. If you feel that you have done so, there is either an enemy or task that hasn't been dealt with.
I'm not in a mission however. I'm in the Topolia camp where in the prep phase(where I can go to scouting and briefing and such) I can't go to the next mission because the armory won't tell me/give me the gear for 'Beyond Recognition'

We have them with our own mission we try to hold in a good shape.
Recently we made an update which causes at some point to a massive deleteVehicle calls. Approximately 150-170 objects gets deleted at once.
And that causes a massive flood into the log followed by the server hanging.
You may have users without the mods required for the mission. You could check signatures before letting someone in.

I have an addition to the Nimitz that seems to reliably crash arma to desktop. The code is in https://sqfbin.com/okelebeperuhavihapec . The line for the crashing is _shuttle1 setPosASL _c1ShuttleStart; . I can share the shuttle model if need be, it's basically a very small car.
in the code I try to wait for the Nimitz parts to be constructed, with a pretty generous sleep 2, but it doesn't help
the code is embedded into the init eventhandler of the JDG_Carrier_spawner object, the center of the Nimitz
any ideas how to troubleshoot this further?

_c1shuttleStart seems to be valid, as it doesn't always crash on my desktop, but on my laptop it's 90% crash guarantee. So I suspect a race condition as the laptop is considerably slower than the desktop
