i have a waypoint cycle set up with a trigger that breaks them out of the cycle to go get in a taru pod, but because the pod dont move any where i cant get them to get out of the taru pod. any one know how to fix this ?

@dark grail If you have a UPnP enabled router, you can just tick the UPnP checkbox and it will automatically forward the ports you need.
If you don't have a UPnP enabled router, you'll need to refer to the instructions for your specific router. Every router has a different interface.
To get to that interface (for Windows):
- Win + R
- Enter in
cmd - Type in
ipconfig - Take the
Default Gatewayand type it into the link box within your web browser.
Im unsure if I have a UPnP router. But I did go into my router settings to forward 2302-2305

What does can't mean? I'm downloading workshop mods with steamcmd on my server, and up to 15gb big mods never had big issues with it
Mmmmm, ok may be a problem my end then (server hoster) because while the steam cmd is saying the mod has been downloaded it does not actually come down to the server, and nothing I have done has worked, which is confusing. I was wondering whether it might be an issue with the servers steam login

Someb antivirus programs have a built in firewall. Windows also has one. So, if you're hosting off that local machine your going to have to get it past those as well.

I recently made a flying ship in arma 3 editor
I made a composition out of it
and was excited to try it out on my map
but the altitude button didnt work with the composition
and the ship is completely broken on the ground
is there anyway I can paste a composition with altitude?

Im not sure then, when my vrm got to around 69c it would shut off my monitors then leave my pc running, and the vrm was the only one that was higher than the rest of my parts, so once i took a desktop fan and opened the side of my pc and turned it on the issue stopped

no, the file is not corrupted. The mod is intentionally built that way, in a bad way.

Hello, I try join a Unit's server, but when I use the Ip and port from their server in direct connect, nothing shows up. I tryed luncher direct connect too and it stuck at blank black page with arma 3 writed on it... I tryed other servers and they worked ok, but this server won't show up for me... anybody knows why?

So I moved Arma 3 from my old HDD to my SSD, and now it's wanting to redownload it again, I can start it with the launcher but it doesn't show it as running on Steam. I looked at the steam folder on my hard drive and it keeps making a new arma 3 folder in it

Right click on Arma 3 --> Properties --> Local files tab
Iirc correctly right click on arma in steam and click properties, local files and "move install folder"
^That will actually move the files to the new location from the old one.

The existing files are not there, that's why it is trying to redownload them
But thing is, I already have my Arma 3 folder that I moved to my SSD, but I moved it manually not using steam

Right, because he moved them in File Explorer.
Uninstall, reinstall in the new location, should find the files you moved, I believe.

From Steam, not the OS.
If you try to launch it, Steam will look in its old location, I'm pretty sure. Give launching it a shot, if it doesn't work you should be okay.
Always verify, but that is another way to do it
Or you can move everything back and then use the "move install folder" to have Steam move things.
how about uh, hmm. Could I move the Arma 3 folder out of my SSD to a temporary folder, then change the install location, and just put all the arma files in the new folder made by steam?
Right. uninstall via steam. It will delete the existing folder and all it's content (You have all your arma stuff in a different folder anyway)
Then install, select the location of where your current stuff is and then just verify your game
It should try to uninstall the game from ...\steamapps\common\Arma 3. When it can't find it, Steam should tell you the files have already been uninstalled or moved. "Download" the game again and set the install location as wherever you moved it, Steam should detect the local files and not download everything you already have.
Only thing that might be worth copying is your user folder in Documents\Arma 3 or Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles
I don't think steam touches it when in uninstalls, but it's easy to copy and you're out anything not synced to the steam cloud if it nukes them.

if you want to move something in Steam you should use the steams internal mechanics for that

I checked inside the case as soon as it happened again,
all components are operational including the gpu
I know that something must've crashed though because the fans become quieter as soon as this happens
Arma and Spotify sounds play (Arma sounds don't move though, they stay in the same spatial location)
After a few minutes, the sound will eventually crash and make a repetitive noise which i can't describe
but it's the noise of the pc crashing

The mods are about 120gb, arma is 40gb. I have 160gb to download off a 480gb SSD right? Meaning I would be left with 340gb, or about 300 since I have 40gb of other things. Thing is though, it allocated 130gb more than needed. Meaning that instead of 300gb being available I now only have 170gb free. Why?

Hello, I have port forwarded 2302, 2303 and a few steam ports that I found online in my router, (my router is not great about it so I think it's correct, I'm getting a new router in a few days}, so I started the server, and tried using port checker tools, one says that 2302 is open the other says it's closed? I don't have anyone online to try and connect atm..had no luck before with just the arma ports, I have went trough firewall and norton, it should all be allowed

Hi @boreal sequoia usually when you have your router firewall active you have to set a fix ip where port forearding is directing... and the best should be to have the upnp function active so when you host and you activate it in the settings the router is opening itself the port. After that if tou own also a software firewall you have to open same port (or the same in case you use your OS firewall...)

You also need real IPv4 from your ISP. It doesn't work with DSlite IPv4

Having issues specifcally with headless client: when AI are spawned on the HC machine or they are setowner'd to the HC machine they become completely responsive. The HC machine is responding to remoteExec and printing logs of functions/framehandlers/etc that are running
when headless is kicked, AI move to server owner and start moving/responding
behaviour is similar to if disableAI "all" was sent

Can someone help me with setting up a Dedicated Server via FASTER. I can not see my server in the server browser but I can connect to it via LAN in the browser. I have ports 2301-2311 opened and allowed through my firewall. What else can I do?

Bayerdynamic DT 770 Pro and a AntLion modmic, both on 3.5mm jacks to your onboard soundcard
windows has strange issues regarding USB audio devices since the fall / creators update from 2017. i could not pinpoint it down exactly, but since then the realtek audio chips and their drivers collide with USB audio devices resulting in mostly DX11 errors and general CoDs

I've created a mission with the editor on Altis, but when I upload it to my Arch Linux dedicated server, players that join, load into Tanoa or other non-altis maps and therefore are just stuck in the ocean. Any ideas how to fix?

I doubt it's an issue with the mission, because there the only reference to the terrain (afaik) is the extension of the mission file.
So it sounds like an issue with the Arma 3 files, or mods which break the CfgWorlds config.
I've tried with no mods though and its still an issue
Also whats weird is any missions I download from online seem to work just fine, (They're in pbo)
So I'm going to try get my friend to make the mission and send it to me and see if that fixes it.

CBA_A3, blastcore, zombies and demons, taskforce, shacktack.
well, since TFAR requires CBA you wouldn't be able to do anything... so it needs to be enabled (not sure about Z&D though), Blastcore and STUI are client-side mods, so won't break anything
and CBA doesn't modify anything, it's just a framework for modders

so im trying to get through the last mission of the altis requiem campaign, terminal defiance, but the mission gets stuck after i destroy the 2 slammers attacking from the northeast
nothing happens after that, and i cant leave the defense area without getting a game over

@quaint jewel I fixed it, turns out my graphics drivers had an update I needed to do
so having this problem with my mission on a dedicated server. Me and a friend load onto the server and after about 5 mins in the mission, the server FPS/CPS will drop to 0 and then we are both frozen for the other person i.e i can move around and fire, but my friend wont see me moving or firing. We've been through all the scripts and optimized them and it's still happening.

with further testing, the error i have only happens on the dedicated server, and not in local host

so whenever i open arma 3 launcher, everything is normal. i can play arma 3 without battleye, but whenever i launch arma 3 with battleye enabled it just gives me a BSOD.
i really dont think my PC specs are involved in this, but I have a decent gaming rig and im able to play arma 3 with 60 fps on ultra/very high settings.
i've reinstalled battleye, ive made sure my windows is up to date, ive verified integrity of arma 3's game files, and ive restarted my computer many times.

when i host a game and enable upnp
the server is not visible to friends in the server browser

Yes I've had sound for years, ever since 64bit was released. headset works fine on everything else. Headset is called X5-C
32bit works fine but just runs like garbage compared to 64bit

so all PBO's are signed and have a .bisign file, and you have a keys folder next to the addons folder with the .bikey file in it (which obviously matches the signed files)

When you generate a key you'll get a .biprivatekey, this you use to sign your PBO's and generate both the client (.bisign) and server (.bikey) key files.
When you did this correctly, and all files have been signed, it should work without a problem.

Hello everyone. I've got a bit of a problem with my Arma 3, well it might be more of a Steam problem but any help would be highly appreciated.
Basically Steam has broken up with my Arma 3 and won't even speak to it LOL. My Steam tells me to Install Arma but i have the game already installed, in fact it still runs. I can't verify the files because steam won't recognise that it is installed even though workshop content is being downloaded. I can't 'install' Arma because I currently don't have the hdd space to do so. I honestly don't know what to do.

Ok, so the respawn issue is fixed, thanks to @weary sky for picking that one up.
However, when a player dies and respawns, I, as Zeus, Crash to desktop.
Difficult to reproduce, but if it happens it happens at every player respawn and destroys our Zeus ops as a result.
Not sure exactly where the issue lies, has anyone heard of anything like this before?

does it normally take a long time for unit insignias to show up in-game? made a new one, and it took almost a day for the clan tag to showup. the insignia still isn't showing up

yep. insignia is showing up in in-game profile, but not in-game uniform. tested with all default uniforms, and tried hopping over to my old unit too just to make sure that insignias are loading

Hello guys, kinda weird question here..
I am new to arma moddeling and was setting up my P drive. Which resulted in me doing it wrong first try ofcourse 🙂 I mounted it on the wrong location. I have now done it right so that's issue nr1 solved. BUT:
The files which were listed on the old P drive location are probably gone now since the whole P drive got replaced. What does this mean towards the old files inside this folder? are they gone? if so are they deleted from my PC or are they floating somewere ..
Hopefully someone here knows the awnser to this..
The P: drive is nothing more than a symlink, so the files on this "drive" still exist somewhere on your hard drive(s).
Ah I found them. They were indeed located in the default Arma 3 Projects folder

I have a problem regarding game versions, for some odd reason I'm stuck in v1.82 and I don't quite know how to fix it. Keep in mind I play on Linux (Pop_OS 19.10) and downloaded the game only a few hours ago.

I tried using your script profiler to see if I could spot if anything was sending loads of network traffic, but I couldn't figure it out
I got a message saying missing downloaded files for my arma 3, I tried going to my launcher to check my files and its there but steam does not recognize it nor does it want to continue my downloads

I figured it out. just gotta right click on the installed mods and hit "repair" then press resume on steam.
Anyone know how to fix that ammo autofill bug? The one where the inventory you're modifying has all of it's space taken up by one type of magazine, and if you try to lower it you can't remove more than one of them. Tried unequipping everything and then putting it all back on, didn't work, and since I'm playing DRO I can't just exit and restart.

People who are having the same issue as me with the "missing installed files" do you have 2 separate drives?
That PBO is from the Apex expansion.
I think so, just make sure that there is a .bikey file alongside the pbo in your arma 3 installation.
Worse case scenario just delete the pbo & bikey and then let steam verify the installation
Anyone had the problem where the darter gunner camera is greyed out and unusable while all other drones can be used regardless of choosing pilot or gunner?

Any changes were made in last patches to HCs? Using last profiling version.
My HC is unable to spawn anything, no changes were done to the mission itself. It worked in dev 1.99. Also many of mission players had the errors in log, something like this:

One assembles from other arrays, the other one is solid.
It is not equal (isEqualTo returns false), but I can't understand why. If I set variables with values showed above, it is equal.

Whenever I try to edit my Arma Profile in game, when I press "Apply" or "Discard" it just crashes my game with no log. I've re installed, done it without mods, delete the profiles, deleted the Mission files, still crashes.
I am having issues with running headless in any capacity on the Tanoa terrain. It becomes unresponsive to even targeted remotexec or the debug console watch. It is responsive on all other terrains (vanilla, CUP) Is anyone else encountering this?
Anyone know why I'm stuck on "Loading addons" with NO addons except for vanilla dlcs... I attached my rpt and my system specs for this machine is:
32GB of DDR4 Ram
Intel Xeon Gold 6254 Processor
it didn't even start loading addons
-enableHT don't do that.

The name one is the profile name
None = Profile with no addons in it
I disabled enableHT and same result
also tried with filePatching disabled?
I'm attempting to move it off C:/
installed via SteamCMD? Have you tried to let it verify the game files?
since C is a hdd which may be the issue
I have verified the files.. Steam CMD always returns "Successfully validated"
I'm pretty sure its just that harddrive going bad now
Because the transfer from it to the new drive is legit 2mb/ps
