Also that entry doesn't make much sense. This has been an issue with other battleye games (pubg, escape from tarkov) for atleast 2 months.
And now all the sudden after a Arma BE update its also happening with Arma. But the fault is supposed to be some Windows 10 update?
Was that a windows update that explicitly wasn't delivered to Arma 3 players or what?

That is a incomplete log. From what it looks like at face value your mod upload to server might be corrupt or the server did not initialize the mod. Maybe it's missing from launch command line? double check that

Hi all, I bought a second copy of arma recently (in the sale) for MP testing purposes, and also to use a mod called indiCam (by Woofer). I used to play on a laptop, but a few months ago migrated to a new PC. So, I thought I'd just set up a new steam account on my old laptop, and then buy the game, thinking I could play on both my PC and laptop (via separate steam accounts and Arma 3 licenses simultaneously). While I am able to join a basic public game like I&A with no mods with both accounts, when I try to join my own server the new account gets kicked after role selection. I have set up a test MP mission and hosted via my provider. This test mission had no mods, and while my buddy was able to access it, my new account was not. I have reinstalled both steam and Arma 3 on my laptop, but that has not made any difference.

Could anyone suggest a lead I could investigate to get this resolved - it is driving me crazy! Are there common issues with secondary accounts?

Several Ideas:

  1. If both accounts are using the same wifi network, you can try connecting it by LAN and through local IPs rather than the external ones
  2. Since it's a private server you could try disabling battleye on both accounts and seeing if the second account gets kicked without it.

Instead of trying to connect them through the "internet" tab on the server browser, or by using a normal ip that has a bunch of different letters, you can try hosting the server by "LAN" and having it connect through the LAN tab on the server browser.

When starting a server, if you're hosting it locally and not by using the dedicated server program arma has, you can choose LAN or internet.

Instead of internet, choose LAN and connect it through the LAN tab.

Could fix your issue, but anybody who isn't in your wifi network won't be able to join.

not much luck with that unfortunately. When I host a LAN game on my laptop, my PC cannot see it. Perhaps I am doing this wrong, it's not something I;ve ever used before, but I assume if one node hosts a game, any other node on the same (wifi) network would be able to see and join that game..

Go to the host computer, open up the command prompt, type ipconfig and copy the ipv4 to the second PC and see if it works.

Just remember with the whole lan thing that the host probably starts the session when you lock into a role by clicking "ok"/ turning your name to green.

I don't know much about the loopback stuff though, if what i suggested worked for you, you should probably just use that.

The goal for me is to enable both my accounts to access a public-hosted server, and this new account seems to not want to work, whereas my buddies and also my main account can access the server fine. So I guess my working theory is that there is some account conflict or corruption on my laptop, making my new account a bit off. For example, when I open the Arma 3 launcher, I always get 8 unread news reports, and even if I select 'mark as read', next time they are all unread. I have also had moments when the launcher will try to load a whole load of my old mods from my previous account (lots of red boxes, as they are not there anymore). I know the A3Launcher is not the best option, and I have also tried a separate launcher to no avail.

So I guess my only lead is - are there any cached Steam or Arma files that may corrupt or confuse my new A3 profile?

Launching A3 makes The launcher, TeamSpeak, OBS, Windows explorer etc. crash also videos playing in chrome turn to a green box, and right after the crash I get a black box across my whole screen which I guess is something crashing. I had this happen like a month ago but updating Windows seemed to fix it now I can't manage to fix it, I tried reinstalling the drivers and updating everything the result is still the same. The game runs fine and all but it's annoying that launching the game makes half of the tray icons disappear and stuff to crash, also only Arma does this every other game works fine. If anyone has any clues how to fix this, it would be appreciated.

Hmm that sounds bit extreme I'd say since every other game runs fine and I have 0 problems other than when I launch Arma 3. I had my previous GPU die on me, it was not fun seeing the screen fill more and more artifacts, hopefully it's not the case this time. Thanks for the input!

Recently several Windows 10 users have started experiencing this issue without a change on our side. Hi, need help bad. My arma 3 is crashing with a bad_module_info error from either starting a vehicle, damaging a vehicle, spawning more than a couple unit's, and walking into render distance of a prefab AO. I've tried everything under the sun and even let my friend who's had more experience dealing with arma's issues than I, but to no avail. This only started happening after a period of 5 months of no usage of the computer im using, since then its been 4 months and still no way of fixing it that I've found. Im on a lenovo Y720 with a GTX 1060, I-7 7700 HQ @2.8 ghz and 8gb of ram.

@wise barn Thanks for diagnosing it, thats the problem but now I dont have a reasonable fix that allows me to use the headset. Its a razer Nari ultimate and the aux connections make the headset lose fidelity and the microphone becomes a nuisance.

If you don't need the onboard Sound, disable it in the BIOS and remove the realtek drivers. This should allow you to use the USB Headset without problems

Remove all these start parameters, they are all useless.
Can't find any hint about what the bad mod in there is.
Btw I see you have ShackTac UI. I recommend you take a look at https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1638341685 its better code, more performant and the author actually cares about what the users think about it.

because the first 3 are auto detected anyway so they do nothing.
the malloc is already the default, telling it explicitly to use the default does nothing.
maxMem can only hurt you, not help you. It only limits the game.
maxVram same, it can only limit the game. But on DirectX11 it actually does nothing at all so its useless.

@grave sleet On a decent machine (GPU above about a 970) the usual bottleneck is on the CPU and there are only really two video settings that can improve performance. The first is terrain detail and object detail, these can both improve performance somewhat. The big one however is object view distance, bring that down to something like 1500 or change it dynamically. Nothing else is worth doing nowadays that I know of.

Hi trouble shooters. I recently bought a second copy of arma, and am trying to play it on my old laptop. I recently changed over to a PC, and thought I could just set up the new version of arma on my old laptop. It does not seem to like it, and I have a working theory that the old launcher is retaining some of my old profile data. It is just a theory (might be .. BS .. ) but I was wondering if there might be a file or location that player data could be stored (e.g. cache).

I have totally uninstalled and reinstalled arma and steam .. 3 times now .. and still get the same troubles (I am unable to connect to my own server). Sometimes my old mods flash up with angry red boxes, and that suggests to me it is trying to load an old mod list from somewhere, even though I’ve tried to scorch-earth the install.

when i queue the update it will download the roughly 5.7gb it needs and then verify but it just says "update cancelled" when it's finished

I've got "launch when finished" ticked and when it has finished the updating where it should launch the game or acknowledge it it just puts ArmA back it into the update queue and says "update cancelled"

Hi! I had an issue 2x this week! I'm trying to reproduce, but it's not being easy. And i'm here to ask if someone had this issue and solved it or not! The issiu is this:
In my squad Liberation Dedicated Server/Mission, sometimes i have more (and normal) FPS inside veichles (even using 3rd person view) and in the options menu, than in any other place.
ex: i'm in the map i have 70-80fps, i enter a city on a veichle (using 3r person) and the frames drop to 40-60fps and i step out of the veichle and the frames drop to 20-30fps with a lot of stuttering, i enter the veichle ans the frames come up again to 40-60FPS,...

I thougth it should be any graphic setting, but as soon as i hit ESC and the menu appears the frames come back up to normal, and even changing viewdistances or terrain details, as soon i exit the menu the frames drop to 20-30fps with stuttering!

I turned on the logs to see if i catch the problem,... but if anyone already had this problem and solved it it would be precious!

game is inconsistent but a lot of times it's a badly optimized mission or server. I haven't done liberation in a long time but unless it's the official version of liberation expect issues

Yea if its an official KP version then it should be fine, prob some thing wrong on your end, try autodetecting your settings/trying a different mission to see if it still happens

Ah, I see what happened. When you set your pagefile size to 0 it tells you you should restart for the changes to be applied. But when you set it back to its previous size it doesn't tell you to restart even though you have to for those changes to be applied.

Hi guys. I need your help, expertise anything haha. The problem I am having is that my ArmA is creating extra profiles automatically and more specifically it is creating three profiles. HC1, HC2 and HC3. This happens when I connect to our units liberation server through the launcher, even though my parameters are set to use my Vlerkies profile as default. It overrides this and uses HC3. Only when I launch the game itself and choose my correct profile from the menu and connect to our liberation server it uses the correct profile. This started after the 1.96 update. I can also manually delete those auto created profiles from the Arma other profiles folder. But as soon as I connect to our liberation server through the launcher, it recreates those three profiles and uses HC3 as the game profile. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as now I have to first start the game normally and then from within the game menu choose the correct profile and connect via the server browser in the game menu

Does anybody know why my Arma is not responding everytime I close the game. There is no problem with exiting the launcher, but the game itself still running, and if I look at the task manager, it shows "Arma 3 is not responding". One thing you'll always hear me say is that FPS is no indicator on how Arma plays. 3 FPS, I will give you is an issue. Otherwise, unless you expect it to be an "on-rails" shooter like COD it is perfectly fine.

On high end machines the only settings that make any difference are the object quality and view distance and to a smaller extent the terrain quality settings. They lighten the CPU load if there is less objects.

This effect is so small that you wont even feel it. At least in my experience. 2,2km view distance and object distance + terrain grid quallity 3.25 compared to 1,2km view distance and terrain grid 12.5 = 2-3 fps difference 😅

Posting an exact error message or a screenshot of it should help with identifying the problem. Arma 3 doesn't use DX12 but that doesn't mean you can't run it on a system with DX12 GPU.

Depending on the amount and sizes of the mods you want to host this questions should be clear ;)
And although mods are used extensively during the game I still prefer the server files on a SSD and mods on a HDD.

As for memory; yes, a lot of stuff is placed in memory, but not complete mods. If that was the case I would need over 100GB of RAM...

I've noticed that in multi-player matches I cannot see the Speed Brakes animation on the A164 Wipeout (with or without mods) and on some custom/mod airplanes with airbrakes, BUT this is only true when viewing another player's plane. Likewise, they cannot see the animations on my plane. Since it's happening in a vanilla environment as well as in a mod, I am wondering if we may have overlooked a setting in the game options menu?

Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I've been having troubles on my server running ACRE2. Works fine at the start, then eventually radios just don't work anymore for some people and stop working for everyone it seems. It happened in antistasi at first so I thought it was just server fps dropping too low during an invasion causing it, but now we just had a regular op and server fps was between 20-30 so I don't think it was that. Anyone have an idea how to fix or where to ask if not here?\

I'm running on a RX 480 8GB, I7 6700k, 32GB ddr4. I have most of my settings on Medium, view distance ~2500, my Malloc, Memory Limit, Video Memory limit is set to unchecked (I assume this means a Default or Automatic), and I have about 30-40 AI units on the map. The issue is, about 30 seconds in (Typically when vehicles move in or troops start moving) the FPS tanks from 50-60 to around 20-30, and if it doesnt do that it will freeze for .5 or 1 seconds every 2-3 seconds, very bad for recording or gameplay in general as its a terrible stutter. I've already tried messing around with my config, memory settings, etc, as well as going vanilla, but to the same effect. Is this an engine issue? How can I fix it?

Anyone else having issues with BattlEye? When launching Arma 3 or DayZ, the launcher reports "Launching the game failed. Do you want to launch Arma 3 without BattlEye?"

BattlEye is working fine with other games using it (PUBG, R6S and such). So far I've tried verifying the game files, reinstalling the game, manually removing & reinstalling BattlEye and running the game with administrative privileges. Is there something obvious that I've missed?

That issue sounds like something is blocking BattleEye from executing (like Anti-Virus). And since every game has it's own BE implementation, it's not possible to say "it works with other games".

@weary sky indeed, but I can't fathom what. The only AV I have is Windows Defender and I've attempted reinstalling BattlEye for Arma 3 and DayZ with it disabled as well.

While the implementation is game-specific, the instances do seem to share a common BEService.exe executable and service (see https://picano.co/spHL.png). The issue here seems specific to Bohemia's implementations and something with my PC.

We have a problem with our Linux server loading missions, it worked absolutely fine the week before last week but last saturday we were unable to load some of our missions.

'bin\config.bin/CfgPatches.a3_music_f_enoch' is the error we would get when we loaded some missions.

The only change we made was updating 3CB Factions, CBA and RHS - suspecting that the downloads were corrupted, we redownloaded them but with no change. The missions that load vs the missions that do load are very inconsistent, nothing in common.
